Utah!

Okay, I'm sneaking a post in while I'm at work, so I'm still catching up on reading. However - Lisa, assuming my remaining Ameraucana cockerel doesn't disappear (or if he does, that I can procure another Am. boy in the near future) I may try breeding him to my blue Am. pullet, who lays light blue eggs. If so, you're welcome to some blue eggs from me

They may not be the darkest blue, but they ARE blue.

I have an Americana that I am not sure is a rooster or hen at this point. He;s not crowing yet but since the polish left he may start, I also have a young Araucana rooster that you can use, He came from a fabulous blue egg

I just had a nice visit from Joybells. I drug her around and let her see all my chickens cats and chicks. She came away with polish rooster and a couple of pullett chicks. nice girl. As always its a pleasure to heet someone from BYC Picture also shows Jacque in his new splint waiting it around for sympathy. His leg is a bit sore from lack of support but I think hes doing ok
Light box has 2 chicks in it
I had so much fun, thanks for showing me around!

Cynthia your miracle chick is a beauty! i am so happy she had you as the chicken mama, you saved her little world :love She has to be a she!

Sphinx, the seller replied with a curt "yes they are the right eggs" response, and said they "are quite blue on the ameraucana color scale". Whatever. The picture she posted was scandalous in my opinion :) I asked before I purchased them how blue, I told her I was not interested unless they were REALLY blue, she said they looked just like the picture. :/ Sure :) I hate to complain, I have had some bogus eggs before, and not said much, but this difference was so ridiculous it really ticked me off, and the price was upped $10 right after I said I was excited and wanted them. It just all rubbed me the wrong way. Oh well, it is done, I am moving on to the next batch, I promise no more complaining :)

Hope a few hatch, so I can at least sell some chicks (as pale green layers) to recoup a little on the purchase. The birds themselves were pretty. At least in the pictures....

Cynthia, and Cyndi, cute pic! And Sundance and joybells too! You guys are having all the fun.!

Red, thanks so much for the offer, may take you up on that :)

My little Mille Fleur got out of its egg during the night. I'm very relieved, since I was worried I'd let the humidity drop too much. The Swedish Flower egg has pipped now and I'm just waiting on the one little Welsummer egg that made it to lockdown. I hope for Joel's sake that one hatches!

A guy just came to pick up the Marans chicks-- his Dad in Mesquite texted me when I put the on KSL Monday and arranged to have me hold them until his son could pick then up to bring them to him. Kind of a long drive out there--I hope they do okay. I keep reminding myself that people ship chicks all the time and they usually do fine even though they don't have a warmer on them. Still, one worries.

Sundance, you got to meet joybells. I'll be she had fun at your place. I need to come see your fun critters.

Your baby sounds like it's doing better. I bet it would hurt after being in a cast for such a long time..will take some time. That's one lucky pup! To have you as mama.

Such a FUN day. First I got to meet up with Cynthia for teeny tiny fluffy cheek OE's.
Just consider- 2 Cynthia's in one place, oh think of the trouble we could cause!

Then, to Brigham City to meet with Sasha to pick up the 3 most calm and beautiful ducks in the world.

Next, on to Taylorsville to meet Joybells. She is giving my cockerels and the ducks a good home. After hearing about the home they are going to, I think I'd like to go as well

It was wonderful to meet each of you and visit with you. Fun, fun day!!!

Does someone have fertile Marans eggs I can buy off them? I have someone who was sad they didn't get my Marans chicks and they are looking for a dozen eggs to hatch.

Wow, what a day for meet ups! I'm very jealous! Sounds like everyone has fun.

Corvidae, congrats on your mille fleur making it out ok. Good luck on everyone else. I have a single black copper marans, and I have a hard time telling her eggs from my other dark layer. And, since I don't have them separated, I couldn't guarantee the babies would be pure FBCM, even if everything that's hatched thus far has been fathered by him. Plus, it's only 2-3 eggs a week.

Cynthia, that EE is sure beautiful. I hope it's a girl, but it seems like I've heard that white ones like that are usually boys.

Just a reminder. i am heading to Spanish Fork this weekend. If anyone needs a chicken train i live in Lehi. I work in Salt Lake 5600 w 4700 s.
