Utah!

Corvidae, I'd like to see some of the property your chickens are on, if you don't mind. I like seeing peoples' setups as much as I do the chickens :)  Enjoy your new camera!

Lilwanis, I wasn't aware that the Houdans are now hatchery-only. It kind of makes me want to get some to start breeding them and improve the standard.

Lisa, thanks :hugs  Just don't know what to do anymore.

Lluvia, welcome! :)  Aww, JG......I've always thought they were cool. Wish I had room in my flock for some. Whereabouts are you located?

I live in Pilot Valley NV, we are on the base of the Pilot Peak Mtn. It's about 2 hrs to SLC, It's the closest big city to us. The Mtn practically splits down the middle half is in Utah and half is Nevada. We have ten acres out here, so I have done my best to fill it up with all sorts of critters ;) I have my clan of chickens...a little of everything, some people think I'm a little crazy when I try to explain to them how entertaining and fun my chickens are not everyone understands that they all have their own little personalities! I'm just lucky I have a supportive husband who is also handy when it comes to all my chicken coops and brooder ideas! The JG female I picked up today is doing well, she even laid me an egg today.-It surprised me, I guess the move didnt stress her out too much. She is a real sweetie :)

Pictures of the EE I need to trim the muff already, it goes into the right eye already. This is why I got this baby today. No new babies until next Mon. or Tues. This Japanese baby is still smaller than a new chick! I can't tell if it's growing or not. The ones it was with are big..out they went today. Couldn't have it alone. It finally settled down from chirping all day. Look at that full crop. :) Lisa, is your Japanese you got doing ok? Is it growing? lol...
oh cute! You got one of these EE's that has these colors of the one I got too, they look so much the same! (Bad english, it is way too late and I am too tired to fix that sentence sorry haha) ANyway...Red on the forehead, lavendar/grayish back, yellow belly, big muffs! So about the Japanese...mine is teeny too. Remember the pics of her with the Delaware? So tiny, she is in with my chicks from McMurray, she is almost 3 full weeks older than them, and they are now two weeks old....they are the same size. It should be ok though, my last Japanese was like that, she would hop through the chicken wire holes at first, and not stay in the brooder. My full grown Japanese I had last year only weighed 18 ounces, she got down to 13 after being broody and losing so much weight! They are itty bitty. The one I have this time, looks different, last time I had a black tail buff, this one looks to be a black tail white. Sheis the little buddy to the other chicks....they will soon outgrow her, so I hope they stay nice to her as they grow up :) My BR and sex links chicks are a bit bigger than her already.

Oh yes!! Now I remember your mom. I had been in SLC all day, then she called to buy chicks, and wanted to meet down there, and I had just gotten back to Logan. We talked forever about chickens :) Glad you made it on here! I told her it would be fun for you ;)

cynthia my dad has bad migraines, to the point he was in the hospital all the time but one time they told him a little trick that has cut down on going to the hospital most of the time, they had him drink a can of regular coke, not diet, it has to be regular and take a tylenol with that. it works for him and it works for a lot of people i know :) hope you feel better soon!

Yes, that's me! Thanks for the suggestion-I already love it. I'm excited to get my profile all up and going with pics, I really enjoy seeing everyone's pics and chickens on here. I learn a ton just from everyone else! I love it! :)

Oh! I know where the Pilot range is! I drove out to find Lucin several years ago with my dad and brother. I want to go out to that area again soon, preferably on a day when I'm prepared to look for the old mine in those mountains. That is very cool to know someone who lives in the area

If you ever need a west-bound chicken train and I'm headed out there, we'll have to work something out!

Awesome, yes that sounds great! It's so funny to have someone actually know where Pilot is, most people I just say it's 30 miles down a dirt road in the middle of no where lol! :D Same to u I come to SLC every couple of months so we could definitely work out a chicken train! Or if u decide to come out this way to look for that mine let me know-I'm always up for an adventure!!! :D
