Hi, I'm in Cedar City. Brand new to chicken farming. With three grandchildren in 4-H wanting to learn and raise them.

Welcome! You'll like it here. Lots of helpful, friendly folks. Don't mind us nutters, though - We just like to tease and have a little fun

I candled most of my shipped Icee eggs last night. I could definitely see some that are starting to develop! Yay! Still a lot that look clear or are hard to tell on, but we'll see what happens. I'm not removing any of them for a while.

Sounds a lot like what I have had going on. The ringing in my ears is pretty quiet, though. But I never used to have a constant ringing. Not until I passed out. And I do have low blood pressure. Interestingly, I found out that my dad has had something similar for years. He had bad vertigo a few years ago, and he has had the same problem I do with moving too quickly or standing up to fast - dizzy, feeling like someone is going to cut your strings and you'll collapse, sick. The doctors don't know what it is that's causing it for him, either.

Some of my problem with my eyes is eyestrain, I think. Serious eyestrain. I've been using eye drops and trying to remember to blink more.

That chick is Vona, the little black Icelandic I lost. Cute little thing. I'm glad I got pictures of her and Sorg, the other chick that we lost.

Edit: I forgot to say, I'm also trying to adjust my diet and nutrition. I don't trust all of the medications that are floating around out there. I'd rather try fixing some things naturally before I get loaded up on other things. BUT, that is only my personal view

I just found out yesterday one of my vertebrae is severely out of place and turned....Hopefully when that is fixed I will have less pain. Don't know if it is the cause or an after effect of all the dizziness and pain but I should get some relief now.
I had 2 olive eggers and 1 EE hatch yesterday....Now if only they would tell me what they are.

Welcome Daviddh!

Ok so I got some pics this morning of the little mutt that I like.

Here is the top view:

This last picture makes me want to name her "jafar"--from Aladdin? She kind of has that wizardy look with the goatie :)
IT looks boyish to me, but I am calling her a she for good luck!

No wonder you have been miserable, I am sooo glad they found this out, I hope they can fix you up so you are not hurting so much....sounds like they are giving you a good look over!

Hi Casa, Yes, Monk was the one with the beautiful head and beard.....and the other Americana doesn't look a thing like her so with three black sex links and an Americana that looked like the gold sex link, Monk was definitely the odd ball. Keeping my fingers crossed that they have calmed down. the two new babies are red sex links. We must like brown eggs! .

I really liked Monk, when you posted pics, that is the one I remember most about your flock :) I hope she stays sweet so you can keep her. Sometimes it is supposed to help to isolate the mean one, away where the others can't see her---i tried that with one of mine, in a rabbit cage on the other side of the yard--then when you introduce them back to the flock it is supposed to switch up the pecking order a bit. I have read this on here in several places--but with mine it did not work so much. Something to try though, if she persists on being grumpy :)
