Have to share the eggs I just got in the mail. They are super dark wheaten marans. I am so excited and have been waiting for months for them to come.

Those are THE darkest eggs I've ever seen. They're so brown that they're purple!

Oh, forgot to mention: greybird, I got a gorgeous coronation sussex from River Rock Family Farms. That was a year ago though, not sure what's going on with their farm right now.


Also, if anyone is interested in buying legbar eggs or chicks, let me know.

Thanks everyone, they are darker in person than in the photo. I candled them and all the air cells look good, which is promising. I am so excited, I hope they hatch well.
I got them from http://fitzfarmandpoultry.net/ I have been waiting for 4 months because they had such a long waiting list....It seems to have been worth the wait.

Does any need any egg cartons? I bought a huge bag of them and no longer need them since i'm reducing my flock. I'll sell them for ,25 each, I could send them to chicken stock if anyone wants them up that way.

This little duckie is doing MUCH better Horray!! It is swimming like a champ and using that little foot really normally now. The niacin (and tons of attention) worked like magic
So....now what to do with it? Evidently it is a Mallard. Anybody want it???

I am interested in legbar chicks. I have some coming (old and new lines), but will need a different line in order to breed.

Legbars... Tempting. lD But I'm already pushing it lol

I checked my eggs again. That one egg is showing growth now. It's still partly flat though, so I'm worried.

The other two I'm still not sure one, I think I see a dark spot, but it's hard to tell if it's shell thickness or what...

I let my pullets try milk. They like milk. Lol. Only gave them a little of course, but they made such a mess! xD
