Utah!

thanks for the help, my momma and her three silkie chicks are doing great. sorry i don't have a pic, my son got my camera again.....what is a good age to move them all back outside? i was thinking a week or two, is that right? or should i wait longer?

that is so cute XP

had a similar experience with my nephews but they didn't go in the run ;P.

Sara-potatoes usually are good to harvest around Labor day. You can harvest them earlier, they are smaller, labor day a bit bigger. New potatoes (the reds) I sometimes pull up a few early to make the little red potatoes with peas and cream sauce. But then the longer they grow and bigger they get the more I feel like I get out of it for the time effort and money I put into it....(greedy lol)
I grew up in Blackfoot Idaho and we got out of school every year the week of Labor Day for potato harvest. That was the week all the farm kids spent harvesting potatoes, cutting hay, and going to the big fair and getting into trouble. Haha :) Oh what a good time that was...

My cilantro bolted and went bad before I could hardly use any this year, Ergh! Tried to trim some down but it is not producing much results. My tomatillos are doing pretty good too though....., and CYNTHIA--my crookneck is not producing squat, yet the zucch is doing great, what is that about? Maybe it was too hot too early? Not sure, that usually does great here.:/ Not this year, and I have three plants in three different places. None have really done well, I picked one med size squash last week but all the others are shriveling up and turning brown, despite all the watering.

Hey Blu how did the goat show go? I did not get over there, I had forgotten Erik had scout camp and we had to get him packed. And it was my grandson's birthday too! Did you do well?

We had lots of fun at the pygmy show. We got a reserve grand champion with our young buck and did well with the rest. Managed to sell everyone except the 2 we are keeping before we came home.
Aug. 2-3 is the fair goat show so you should come watch then. it will be lots of fun.

Sundance, did she just barely stop being able to walk? I have to admit I'd be frantic.

For your afternoon entertainment, I have a photo essay entitled: "Why I will not give this broody eggs to hatch"

(yes, I know this corner of my coop is filthy. She gets so nasty whenever I go near her that it's tough to get the area cleaned up. I occasionally send a host of water on her, which I'm sure doesn't help matters much)

my broody who is even smaller hatched full size eggs a month ago. Chicks are much bigger than she is pretty funny, give her an egg make her happy

Received my Showgirl/silkie eggs today. Hope I get some showgirls. Hope I get some to hatch period!

She put in extras that were getting a bit older, but she says, just in case. I hope they are good. :)

3:00 last night, I heard a chick pipping. I got all prepared.. But now, nothing. I am getting a little discouraged, but in good news, my friend wants to hatch out some red comet/Brahma crosses. Well, we will see how it goes, I guess...

Hope the rest of us are doing well.

My silkie that I'm selling appears to have gone broody.

My Brahma babies are the highlight of my life right now. I can take them on walks because they follow me, and they like to sleep on my chest, it's so cute.

I should take pictures of my little sister with our chickens. Cute.
