Utah!

Silly, that is a lot of babies! Has Brian been over yet? I think I can see the Brahmas..they are cute! I think I see one that will be splash in color. I want a splash bantam. I have a few cochin bantams in right now from Lucky Pickins. Didn't get many that were viable. She sent some waay tiny eggs. The larger ones are coming along. Only 7 out 18! I should get some. A lavender is growing, a blue mottled too..oh, I am hoping for that one to hatch, and be a girl of course. :)

Whittni..congratulations. You guys are racking up the ribbons. Shinx, good luck on the hatch, you're off to a good start. Yaay for Red. :) It is pouring down here! The lighting is close, I'm wondering if I should be on the internet...Loving it though..we need this rain. :) Can see that it will clear up soon. My third baby didn't make it. It didn't pip, so I did, had a lot of yolk, and I wondered why. It was breathing fine all day as I let it sit and hang out for a while, then noticed that it wasn't absorbing the yolk. Then I noticed it had that icky greenish fluid in the bottom. Then, I saw the intestine. :( No wonder it wasn't absorbing the yolk. I haven't seen that in a very long time. Poor baby. And yes, it was a SG. :( With a bow tie. :hit I am waiting for the gal to write me back. I sent her these photos of the babies. I had asked her during the auction if these that had buff were white..because she had advertised white, she said yes, that they get white later on. So, I am pretty sure that the one is white, waiting to hear what color the other one is. I am not keeping the blue one, so if anyone is interested in it, let me know. Just 5 dollars. :) Pretty baby.
Oh they are so sweet! So so so cute. How did you dare take pics on...white? haha. Sorry about that third one :(

Cynthia, Brian just left here. He had a hard time figuring out which Bantams he wanted. I think he has 8 that I'm holding for him, we painted their toe nails. hehehe. So pretty much what I have left to re-home are most of the Buff, and brown chipmunk looking ones. The rest Brian took and there are a few that I'm going to watch. I'm pretty sure that buff ones are either Cochin or Brahma's. Some are really feathered in the legs, others not so much, but there are feathers. So which one has more feathers on the legs Brahmas or Cochins?

I think there are 12 for sure that need a new home. Anyone on here I will just charge what it was to get them, which after vaccination and shipping was only $1.58, so that's not too bad for some Bantams, Cal Ranch had them last week for $6.00 a piece. I'm going to post them up on KSL for $5.00 each, hoping to be able to unload at least 10 of them really fast. I'm holding Brian's tiny's for a week or so since he has bigger ones at home. He did take his 6 large ones, and I can't believe how much a difference it is when just 6 leave. It looks somewhat empty in there. hehehe

A healthy, tame bird is a show bird. Are you sure you don't have one? If you have one that has all its feathers and might be a little shiny it has a good chance at winning at a county fair. OEGBs, I love this breed so much, they are adorable. Roosters are quiet (from what I've owned) and hens are sooo little. This is my little hen :)
I don't think it works that way? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that fairs use the standards too. I know my Sebright I showed a few years back was disqualified because she was too big. My Sizzle rooster is excellent, but they aren't recognized. My Silkies are missing feathers and their wings and tails have normal feathering. None of my Brahmas are good enough for show. My Buffs all decend from Ideal Poultry lines... And they're a third the size they're supposed to be! My Light is better, but I still think she falls short... She's huge but I don't think she's more than 5 pounds. And her feathers are still growing back. She's missing a toe. I'm familiar with the standard or perfection for Buff Brahmas. My hen would fit well, if she were bigger, wasn't missing a toe, and if she had yellow feet. But she's nice and wide and has good feathering. Her Columbian pattern isn't perfect but not too bad either. Sorry if I'm wrong, but that about round up my current flock! And oh my goodness, she is so cute. <3 I am looking into it. I hope some people at the association may know some OEGB breeders, but I still feel so nervous asking!

Hi,

Do you have black or white bresse? French or American? According to stuff on Greenfire they are finished off on grain an milk. They are sold in the market in France with the head and feet still on. I guess to prove they are bresse. In Christmas wk they can demand $150.00 per capon.

The chicks are wonderful. THANKS FOR THE PHOTOS.

Got an e-mail back from the gal. The SG will be white. She says they start out like that. Even the silver/blue, she says it will probably turn out white. She will take photos of some that are further along that were these colors.
Lisa, I wanted the white, so the gal could see the colors. :)

Silly, I am selling my Silkie here if you didn't get any in your bantams. :)
Thanks for your Offer, but right now I have 25 Bantams here, I think I'm good. Hoping that I can sell off at least 10 of them in the next week, then I won't feel so overwhelmed with chicks. LOL They are so stinking cute that I keep watching them, and I have so much work that I need to get done, I need to stop.

I love the wheaten and bl wheaten roosters. They are so stunning, especially when they are young and their faces are still creamy colored. I hope they stay just as they are and stay quiet for you. Would love to see you have some you can keep!

Yeah, these boys are just starting to get black in their beards. They look like someone singed the white feathers.
