Utah!

Sara, that's an awesome cake. LOVE it!!!

Silly, not sure on the feed. Seems like it'd be good. You'd want to make sure you had calcium available to them as free choice.

Red, which chicken do you think may be a pullet? Pictures?

If we're going to talk blown out tires, we were on our epic trip in June and blew out a tire in the pouring rain on the highway in Northern CA. We were trying to change it and our jack just wasn't working. Lucky for us, a CHiP showed up a few minutes later and let us borrow his.

Ugh, I am so grossed out you guys. I was tucking my birds in last night, and my silver penciled hamburg pooped in front of me. WORMS. How does you guys treat them? I was leaning towards safeguard, but I HATE the idea of figuring out weights and dosing individually.

I love cayenne pepper. Sprinkle it all over in their food. They have no heat receptors, it totally does not bother them, but is sure does bother the worms! That is gross, glad you saw them though so you know :p

I use to buy food from her last year and it was good food. I stoped because summer came and i found some cheaper but didnt have the same protein count, but i free range my chickens. I was actually going to get 400 lbs from her this weekend. It does have a lot of the husk in it sometimes so you can end up paying for 5 lbs out of 50 lbs of plant fiber that the chickens dont eat. It also does kind of make a mess because of the husk. I wait for a windy day and then slowly dump it into my 55 gallon drums so most of the husk blows away.

I have bought that feed in the past. its ok for summer but the protein is not high enough for winter. If I feed it in Winter I feed 50/50 with a 20% protein to bring up protien level. I am still in Evanston waiting for the tire to come in. My gosh that cake was awsome. I wish I had a talent like that. Hope everyone is ready and going to have fun for the labor day weekend, Hopefully I'll be home by then.

I liked the idea of cayenne pepper to try before I go the chemical route. I bought 3/4 of a lb of pure cayenne pepper and 3/4 lbs of black oil sunflower seeds. Mixed it together and put it in a long chick feeder. Within 15 minutes, it was all gone. We'll see what happens.

I bought a ton from Pahvant Growers out in Delta in the spring and am ready to buy another ton. I was thinking of get it from Delta again. They have a four grain mix 50lbs/$9. I am wondering if anyone has other sources of cheap feed? Where are all of you getting your feed from?

6Kids, I got it from Winco, my favorite grocery store ever. It cost me less than $3 for the whole concoction. I LOVE their bulk foods.

Anyone on here interest in some Rare Bantam Chicks? I have 6 that I would like to try to find some homes for. They are vaccinated. $5.00 each on here for anyone wanting them. Or take all 6 for $20.00

I have 1 Millie, 1 Golden Neck D'Uccle, 2 Golden Sebrights, 1 Lavender/Blue Cochin and then a Mystery Chick, thinking a old game bird type.

I have Houdans, SG/NN Mixes, in the bator, if I get any extra Houdans I will let you know. You are sure welcome to take this little guy if you want to try! They are not to hard to re-home in SLC if you need to. I also have a SQ pure white bearded Silkie Roo that is almost 4 months old too. From Varner Lane Fancies, (sikie_sue) on here. He is gorgeous. You can have him Free if you want him, I have to get him re-homed before he starts crowing, and to make room for the SG/NN babies. I have 4 silkies and 2 Purebred SG that are around 3 months old, if I have extra females for sale I will let you know. I only want to keep 2-3. I have a blue partridge Silkie that is for sale for sure. I **think** it is a girl, but not positive. I can post pics if you want to see. That one is $7. I am only keeping the Whites, and B/B/S colors to breed with my SG rooster.
I would love a houdan. Just let me know and we will work something out.
