Utah!

Not cool. We are babysitting our cousins' dachsund, and she's been a good dog ....... up until she saw my broody hen with the four babies and decided it would be a great idea to chase her around the yard. Bad dog. I had to dig my hen out of a huge clump of ivy because she wouldn't come out to her chicks when they were crying and looking for her.

I'm in Spanish fork. Thanks to cinthia12
Welcome to Tell! You found us. Now, ask away..here, or at any other thread..like the broody thread..or baby chick thread. Or, as you have probably noticed, you can go to a separated breed thread..like the Silver Laced Wyondott, or the Sex Link thread. Lots going on here. And trust me, we can be a crazy bunch here in Utah. Oops..gave us away ~

Gary! You got the smooth blue! Oh well, I have more on the way. Actually, more from the gal that I got these from..and some from a gal I used to get them from ... Cotton.... Her chickens are the prettiest..they win a lot of shows. Even beat catdance at a show this year. :p And, I got some more silkies from someone I don't know, but, she had splashes, bearded too..and buffs...so, hoping for some straight splashes..and girls to boot.
Your BLR's are very pretty here.

Gary, those chicks are adorable - especially the white Silkie! Sooooo cute.

Since I keep forgetting to say so, welcome to all of the newbies!

I got some pictures of my buzzards today.

Little male on the left. The female is on the right, with mama up front. Sean, These two poults are from eggs I got from you at Chickenstock!

"Hey! Quit taking pictures of my kids!"

Red, naughty dog! Glad it didn't get any of the chickens. Your turkeys are so cool. Part of me wants to raise one for thanksgiving, but I probably won't.

Welcome Tellorton!

Madchicken, those are some good looking babies. I can't wait to see how that silkie feathers out.

My little Serama crowed today. He is officially a Rooster. What a tiny crow! Hope it stays that way. I heard this funny little sound from my bedroom window early this morning..not too early, around 7:30. I popped my head up thinking, is that what I think it was..then he did it again. When I was out later I was hoping he would crow again, he did. I turned around to watch. He puffed up, stretched out, and out came this little squeaky squack. One of his little ladies was standing right in front of him when he did it..she pecked him! As though to say, hush up! What is that ugly sound anyway? He ran! I started laughing out loud, the neighbors probably wondered what in the world. I was making more noise than him for sure. It was just too funny to watch. Sure hope he can handle his ladies. I have three Serama eggs that are doing pretty good. Crossing fingers they hatch. These little birds are just too cute. My DH even gets a kick out of them.

Here is picture of my chicks I just hatched. Not a fancy photo. A lot of SLW's and one GLW..the lavender/or splash is a cochin. He's going to Shannelle. I have three Sex links here that are girls. Going to keep two to watch, one is up for sale if anyone wants a good egg layer come this spring. Only 3 dollars for them right now at this age. Keeping one of the SLW's. I have another batch that I want to keep a couple from to watch.

Cynthia, that is so cute about your little Serama. I love it when I go to Sundance's and see her little roo. They are so cute!

Sphinx, if you get a turkey to raise for the Fall, you'd want to get it earlier in the Spring so that it has time to reach a decent size. The two Black Spanish I have are a slower growing breed, so they're safe for the remainder of this year. And, if you get a turkey for eating, don't name it. Unless it's something like "dinner". It's hard to have to slaughter a pet.
