Ace, line breeding works really well if you do it correctly. Line breeding intensifies certain traits that you want but it also intensifies certain traits that you don't want. for example. if you breed RIR for the dark mahogany color only you will end up with beautiful dark mahogany color. But if you rooster is aggressive it may pass this gene on and eventually will get beautiful colored birds that will attack everything even each other. (this is the trait people look for when they raise birds for fighting). I have never tried it due to neighbors but i do plan on trying it sometime in the near future since this is not a permanent home. And yes it will be with RIR's, my favorite breed.
