Hey everyone! I don't think I've been on in months, I feel so out of the loop. But I've been doing a lot of traveling lately for work. Just got home from Florida, and my poor girls are out in the snow. I have a brand new metal water fountain with the metal water heater base, and the girls are terrified to go near it. I hope they wise up since everything was frozen this morning, beside that. Hope everyone's girls are doing good with all the snow and cold weather today. My girls were in the main coop or the little coop that I made all day long. I feel so bad for them, its not even that cold yet, and I want to bring them all in the house. I could only image all 18 girls in the house. LOL I guess I need to figure out where to hang a light out there. Not so much concerned on getting the eggs. I get about 4 a day, and that is plenty for right now. But more so they have light and some heat in there. We get really cold up here by the canyon.
I need to go outside and take some photo's of them since they are all just about full grown. They are all so beautiful. Still just the 5 layers, really surprised that my March Cochin Bantam hasn't laid an egg as of anywhere that I have looked, and my Silkies should have started too, but nothing out of them either.
And Lisa I need to get a photo of that Hokey Pokey I got from you, I'm really hoping that she is really a she. I love my Pokey, its a wild looking chick. But she is starting to get the nice streamers on the top of her head like a male Silkie.

I will so very cry if she's a he. I just love how wild she looks.
As for food for winter, I have them all on All Flock since my youngest are 3 months old. I also have Oyster shells out there for them, and they get scratch just about every day, its gives them something to do since its gotten colder, they all just stay under the pine tree most of the day. Is there anything that I should be giving them, they usually get some type of fresh fruit or veg every other day. I've thought about giving them some hardboiled eggs or scrambled eggs in the mornings when its cold, can I do that? I've heard of oatmeal too,
Thanks!
