Is anyone here joining the New Year Day Hatch?
Well of course I am, and I think I talked Brian into it. We are splitting some eggs..blues and greens...olive greens.

I think Cynthia and I are doing it together?.? I want to any ways. I've been hatching eggs for the past 2 weeks and out of 40 eggs only 5 hatched. 1 has only1 eye and a severe crooked beak. Its cute and its name is lucky lol. The little guy just wanted to live so I guess now I have me a special/ugly chicken lol.. I'm hoping my next hatch goes much better now that I know what to do and what not to.Is anyone here joining the New Year Day Hatch?

those sound like they are very pretty! Those would be fun to hatch lol.I have fertile olive eggs......
Dad is fbcm. Mom can be olive egger (fbcm/legbar cross) or blue egger (leghorn/ee cross, or ee).
yes 3 hatched the other day and I'm guess they are pure buckeye. One has 1 eye and a crooked beak but he is strong and wanted to live lol. So his name is lucky. I will send pics in a bit.Oh, those puppies are so cute! Must hide the pics from my daughter. She keeps begging for a dog.
Brian, any luck with any of the eggs I gave you?
Not sure if I will hatch for New Years. I have been hatching since September. I have 10 due Friday and 6 waiting to go in, and 13 in the brooder. Not sure what I will have by the 11th and shipped eggs are rough emotionally.
it has been doing great. If anyone should be worried its the other ones hahaha. Lucky is a very tough little guy and does the picking on the others lol.Glad you got some! Sad about the little one though. Be super careful about older chicks around it. One that I hatched from shipped eggs stopped using one eye after a day or two. When I moved her in with the bigger chicks they beat her up pretty badly during the night. I had watched all day, they waited til I was not looking.
