Utah!

i tarp my run. i tarp the top and it goes down the sides. costco has huge high quality tarps for cheap. then i secure them with rope. i did not tarp the door of my run tho as i want them to get some fresh air. doing the tarp means i do not have a smelly bog in the spring to deal with, i learned that the hard way my first year lol

Oh ya thought i would show a picture of breakfast.
Those are awesome! So they are not broken after all, yay! lol Mine are laying pretty good right now, I am getting 4 a day out of 5 girls (most days, 3 once in awhile). I think I have one that is trying to be broody, she is acting nuts. Do you want anymore if I hatch some? Thinking I might set eggs again after Christmas. ;) Decided not to hatch any for Xmas or NY, I want to get through the holidays with no brooders. Watch out after the first of the year though! I have my wishlist also, getting an order in at Cackle as well for the end of Feb/first of March if anybody wants me to add anything for them.

How are they at adding new birds to the others? Are the aggressive like chickens?

I have two opposite experiences. Once, I added one girl to the group. The boy fell in love I think and only wanted to mate her, and the other hens picked on her. I had to take her out, add two girls with her in the garage, then back outside the next day and they were fine.

The second time, I put them all in a cardboard box together overnight, dark, then opened it in the morning and put them all in the habitat. Not a blink! So that seemed to work fine, at least that time.

Depending on my living situation in the spring i might want to add 4-5 more. I would like to get some tuxedo.

IcyOldHen has some Texas A&M I would like to get some of those in a few months if she still has the eggs :D Does anybody on here know if you can mix the breeds or do you have to keep them separate? I would probably keep mine separate but just wondering.?

I put plastic over one of my chicken tractors and one of my hoop houses using 1x2 lumber. I just rolled the plastic around the lumber, then screwed it to the wooden base of the tractor or to the raised bed under the cattle panel hoops. Working great so far!

Hey do any of you guys "tarp" your runs? I never have before since we don't get much wind where I'm at but I was wondering if most of the Utah group does or not.

This was last year, this year we added more..towards the front of the run You can see the
grey tarp, we have some blue just in front of that part now. Big coop at the left side,
a small little run at the right side..sure keeps warm in there with that heat lamp and board
inside an area of the run.

Tuxedo..buttons? Or larger? Here is a photo of some of my buttons I had for a while. One was a light Tuxedo..so I was told. The one with the grey down the middle.
