She is egg bound! The method to fix is bring hen in house and put her in tub of warm water and massage her abdomen so she can lay egg (about 1/2 hour i think). She will die if she cant pass it.

I called Tell, she passed the one that you could see bulging, then had another! I'll bet she feels better now! He worked the first one out with steam, then to his surprise, she started pushing another egg out. Hope she isn't torn. He sent a photo of her just after she laid the second egg. Her vent was not showing at all. Looks good.

Tell, so glad she is doing OK. I lost a couple hens because of this before i knew what was going on. It was one of the most scariest things i had ever seen. I lost a little quail about a month ago because of egg bound, my kids were taking care of the birds and didn't notice anything wrong until it was to late.

Quick question. I'm going through the food storage, and I have some plain oatmeal that hasn't been opened, but expired Oct 2013. Can I feed it to the girls? And if so do I need to cook it?

Karen I feed mine all kinds of expired food storage, I am sure it is fine. I found some wheat in the garage that was not sealed and had weevils in it, they LOVED the little bugs like crazy. Me, not so much. ICKY. But it was a good protein boost for them.. Lol!

Cynthia those puppies have gotten so cute. I love the curly curls coming in on their coats.
