I have two EE's, and three working on it. Boy, the first is big, the second one is small. A chipmunk and a black, I think..it looks kind of blue. Can't quite tell yet, and it's fluffed out!

Yeah! At least someone got something to hatch. Still nothing on my eggs. Hopefully they just want to be a few days late. I'm thinking I might go an buy a new Temp/Humidity gauge this weekend before I try again. Maybe the 2 that I have are both wrong. So that way I will have 3.

Good luck Karen. I actually don't pay too much attention to my temp gauges. I go by touch pretty much now because I know these things aren't right..unless you spend moo goo bucks on one that you can calibrate. And I now know how much water usually works in each bator. You'll get the hang of it. Remember, Lisa and I have been doing this for some time now.

Thanks! I just feel bad for the little chicks, I'm really hoping they will just be really late. My friends neighbor is going to save me some Silkie Chicks. Since my daughter last night asked if we can get another one. I need a white or a splash right? Doubt their will be a Splash. I think she said that his rooster is black, and then he has a few white, and I know for sure brown one. She said he has about 6 fluffy's out there.

So hopefully those will at least have a better hatch, he said that he just had a broody hatch 3, so they should be good to go. Or I think my daughter will really kill me. Today she told her teacher that I killed the chicks at home because I didn't crack them open. OMG, her teacher had to ask me what she was talking about. I told her maybe they are just really late on their birthday. Poor things.

I need one that lays color! I have 2 outside, one lays the lightest green that you would say is white and the other lays a light tan egg. I'm like Really girls?

Where do you get all your eggs? You don't have them all shipped in do you? I would love to be able to hatch some eggs for fun throughout the spring to see if I can get me a blue egg by fall. I just want one blue egger. I don't even care if its a bantam. I love my little chickens outside.

Silly, I'm so sorry that you haven't gotten anything. I'd be checking them. What I'd do is I'd get an egg out and tap on it a little, and see if you feel any movement or hear any chirping. Maybe even candle them to see what you see.

I just checked my eggs, and it appears I have two pips. One is at the wrong end. Silly chicken. I figure I'll put the webcam on them in the morning. I'm too tired to do it tonight. If things continue, I think I'll get a 100% hatch this time.

Lisa, I'm so sorry about your NN. When I had my terrible mouse problem last spring, I was so freaked out when I finally gave in and put poison out.

Certainly you can have eggs shipped, I am waiting on some shipped eggs right now...but also lots of them around locally. I am getting some SBEL eggs from Birdguy (hopefully) in a couple weeks. (Leghorn hens with a Pure Blue Wheaten Ameraucana rooster that came from a nice blue egg) If they hatch well I will definitely be glad to save a few chicks for you, I only need a few more, and I have had great luck hatching eggs from him....also there are some people in Utah with Blue eggers--I think Red has a hen that lays really pretty Blue eggs, if it had an Icelandic Daddy those would be a good shot at blue layers...I think she was posting about that a few pages back....I am sure there are more I am also waiting on shipped eggs from DMRippy, I have gotten SBEL eggs from her before, this time they are crested SBEL's, they are leghorns with a Legbar Roo, so they could be all kinds of barred crested babies, Blue barred, silver/gold, fun stuff. (Some might remember she was packing hers in the foam tubes, nice packing ) They do pretty well for being shipped.

My EE lays like a bluefish green egg. I will get a pic of the one she lays today.
