This rooster: (the SLW thread said he is probably a SLWxGLW... so it's carrying the gold gene).. crossed with an EE... here is what one of the chicks looked like:

(Now his head is turning more black... he's super unique!)


I also have two with the same rooster over a BA. I haven't hatched any of these ones yet! In other words, it's a surprise package.

I have one Wheaten Ameracauna over a Barred Rock (I have one of these in my bator right now).

Then I have one more Icee.

Was Rusty a little bantam RIR? Can't remember. Sorry he's gone. :(

I will take them! The BA chicks will likely be great layers :D I will pm ya.
 
Hey everyone how have you all been? Alot has been going on and haven't been on in a long while. Hope you and your chickens are making it through the winter:)
Me and my partner have decided to move to florida, we need a change of scenery and already found work out there:) our deadline is August 1st but if we have a chance to move sooner we will take it.
I finally have some new layers:) my Sicilian buttercup is laying surprisingly well. My first white egg hahahahaha. It makes the other egg colors stand out. On that note does anyone have a hen for sale that lays a dark egg? Like a maran? I would be interested in her.
Also I am going to sell one of my coops which holds up to 4 chickens, I have 3 coops and dont need them all lol. Pm me if interested.
we got a new puppy (finally:)) she is a jack rat terrier (jack Russel/rat terrier) and for a 6 week old puppy she learns very fast and is already almost potty trained. Very amazed lol.
I ended up getting rid of all chickens that needed a heat lamp and couldn't handle the cold, I lost alot of bantams and seramas and couldn't afford the electric bill anymore so I had to make some changes. All is very well now and all my girls are happy and beautiful as ever, especially my Sicilian buttercup, blrw and salmon faverolle:)

Silly, I agree- 95 isn't that bad. Remember that the Brinsea incubators have a "cooling time" on their bators now where they deliberately turn off for a couple hours a day. I'm sure those babies will be fine.


I'm hating the wild birds now. I swear, they have eaten 10 lbs of chicken food in the past 48 hours. So maddening. I guess my owl isn't as scary as starving now.

oh that is insane about the wild birds. maybe get some cheap wild bird food to put out so they do not take the chicken feed?
