With shipped eggs there are a lot of variables. Out of all my hatches last year (all but one was shipped), my marans did the best. I hatched four of six with those. most I only hatched 1-3. There is a thread on here called something like "The Great Egg Shipping Eggsperiment". Anyone who participated in that, knows how to ship eggs the right way for their area. I am excited to be able to start my chicken flock again. This house selling stuff is no fun.

Well since we sold our chickens, goats and house in the country. And moved to town where we gave away almost everything that remained that was chicken related. We haven't been around at all. I thought I would stop by and say hi to everyone that knows us. And let you know the move has been very beneficial. the monster has friends and learned to ride her bike. And the boss is doing quite well. Even to the point she can exercise almost daily. Well any ways hi.

Did you all read the Aluminum Foil will increase Broodiness thread. I read some if it. Hilarious, Now.... Do you think its April Fools to see how many people actually go out and put aluminum in their coops, or in all honesty people really think that works. I don't see it working except to scare the turds out of the girls. I take a trash bag out there to clean up and they flip their lids.

I posted on the comments April Fools and was PM that I was a spoilsport and they had removed my post. I replied that I hated to see the expense that people will go to lining their coops and nest boxes with tin foil Guess I'm a party pooper

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I am so excited

I found a Blue Copper Marans Rooster unrelated to my hens.

I can put him with my barred rocks to get sex linked blue and black chicks. I can put him with my blue barred legbar cross to get blue/black/splash sex linked chicks (AND they will lay olive eggs!). I can put him with my FBCM to get blue or black copper marans babies....I can put him with all my olive eggers and ameraucanas to get more olive egger babies....and if I put him with my Blue Ameraucana I could get blue/black splash OE babies! (I think I have this all right, I have been picking brains of the experts to be sure!) I am so excited! He is going to be one busy boy lol. I hope it works out! Crossing fingers....
