Utah!

if that was the same person I got my silkie from, I was less than impressed with his setup (I doubt the area he was at in Provo would REALLY let him have 30 + chickens.... and that's not counting the silkies...)

just checked my texts, and yeah, it's the same person.

okay, so, not only that, but where they had the brood box was up on top of the coop (sectioned off from the bottom) and you couldn't reach in there, they had to use a net to get them! it not only freaked them out big time, but also broke 2 blood feathers on one foot.  Plus, his silkies don't like people at all... I'm still having a tough time getting my silkie that I got from him to be ok with being held....

I'm not a mean person by any means.... but I have his address, if someone wanted to call A-control on him.....

OH, also.... with doing the linoleum on the floor of the coop, just make sure you have at least 3 inches of shavings (or sand?) in there, they won't slide around anymore! :yesss:

edit (again): btw, last week, that guy dropped his silkie price on those down to $5..... I bet you could tell him that's what you'll pay if you were interested in getting them....

He caught them with a net?! Poor chickies! When I texted him last week he told me that they were very tame and used to being handled. I guess we have different ideas of what that means! Now I'm soooo glad that I didn't make that drive!

Hey guys in the end of June beginning of July and on I will have EE eggs if anyone wants some eggs to hatch. By winter I will have SLW eggs also and maybe some bantams or light brahma eggs. Pm me if you would like any.

Tell, have you moved yet? How are you getting fertile eggs...moved and now have some roos?

Iluv, I don't text, in fact if I sell on ksl, I say, calls are best. So, if I call, and he says texts are best, bet he lets the message pick up. Were his whites any good? The photos I saw didn't look that great.

yeah, it's Randy. lol you'll have to tell us how it goes ;) maybe you should offer him $5/bird (or less! haha) since that's what he put them up as last week. see what he has to say about that
You should lol. I just wish I couldve saved that lil partridge from him now that I know what kind of life they have. Even if I didnt end up keeping it, and found it a better home then being there. I wasent sure what quality it would turn into but I was interested in that one because I think some partridges turn out really pretty and thought there might be a chance it was bearded and the pic he sent looked like it might be, so I was just trying to make out what the gender may be just to give me a guess since its 6 weeks and I could already tell my splash was looking boy-ish at 5 so I thought I might be able to gather a good guess at least before getting it since I didnt want to just end up buying a roo, and he found that annoying that I was trying to guess that, and said I was no better then a professional at predicting sex and once I excepted that and stopped looking around ksl for my holy grail then i'd be alot happier and could do more productive things with my life, then to waste ppls time :( ect.. And he just kept going on and on with the mean comments, just being so horrible to me :( I just dont get it. All I was doing was asking questions about this chick, trying to decide if I should get it since it would fit right in with my older babies :(

He just mentioned in his ksl ad that he prefers texts, so not sure if he'd answer his phone. Im curious if he will or not for you. He said his silkies are not bearded but I think some might be. He buys his eggs from someone in Lindon by me apparently and then hatches and sell them. Im not even sure if the photos he uses in his ads are his actual birds. Bitsy posted a pic of one of her white silkies that she got from him. Crests still look small at 6 weeks but not sure how they will look as adults. I tried to ask him that before and he said he doesent know because he buys the eggs and doesent know what the parents look like but says they arent bearded. But I wanted to see a photo anyway just incase he had no idea what bearded looked like. I was asking about the lil partridge and got him to send me one pic and it looks alot like bistys baby in quality and looks to have some fluff on the cheek, so I was thinking it could be bearded and might be worth getting if it looked like a hen, so I could see how it fluffs out and then decide if I should keep it.

I went to Cal Ranch today. I won a bag of food from them for best hen at chicken stock, I also talked to the manager and asked if they would consider sponsoring a chicken stock in their store next year, The manager was very receptive to the idea. He is going to call the cal ranch in Idaho falls to get an idea of what they were thinking. It would be really neat to have two chicken stocks. We would just need to make sure they are on different days
YEAH!!! WTG!

Just fyi to everyone, looking for silkies. I wouldnt purchase any chickens from that guy selling silkies in Provo on ksl. Had a terrible experience with this person. He's extremely rude to people if you apparently ask too many questions about a chick. Dont ask for pics, gender pics, or even to meet anywhee or he'll blow up. I was just asking basic questions I would ask anyone about a chick I might be interested in and he got annoyed very quickly and then blew up at me, and became incredibly mean and unprofessional and repeatedly attacking me. I dont think a person has any business breeding when they are that unprofessional and rude towards people, and ones they dont even know. I definitely would advise to look elsewhere. Just thought i'd say something, because it was very upsetting the way he treated me just over asking questions about one of his chicks.
Good info. There is a certain seller that has family north and south, wonder if they are related or possibly where his chicks come from. Did you happen to know if he had bird dogs?

actually, it was his teenage daughter that caught them with a net, I'm not entirely sure how he handles them.... and when I tried to ask her questions, she's like "I don't know, this is my dad's project"

Cynthia, this is the baby I got from him, same batch. She's pretty, I don't know anything about specifics... but if you wanted to come take a look at her, let me know, and you can come check her out :)
