Utah!

Oh goodness, have to share this one. Look how fat and cute the color is on this silkie chick. I have taken so many pics of it, I love it. And it just runs to me, it thinks I am momma <3

Ok so help me out on figuring out the color. It should not be partridge, I can't figure it out . My only colors are white, blue, black and splash, with the exception of the black roo Yoshi though because he has such a pretty silver necklace and a little silver through out the body, we wondered if he was blue or silver for a long time. I have only gotten blue black lavender splash and white chicks up til now. (Probably close to two hundred chicks last year) And I think the Dad was always Ernie before he is blue frizzled. So the new roo is definitely giving this chick some color...what will it be? So funny. I am calling it Mrs. Fancypants, she is sooo fat and stripey and cute.

Way to go Red, nice chicks Lisa, Hotel California +1, hate rats real bad. I have been using dog dishes like this, to give the flock any fluids from the kitchen, like bean, corn, carrot, and what have you juice. The birds like the flavored fluid and also a little milk when we have some. If I get eggs that are bumped or such that we don't want to take them to the house, they also get broken in these stainless steel dishes. The ones with raised lips, like a pan I suppose, of course don't work because a bird will jump up on the rim and tip the contents. I suppose you experienced folk do this already, but thought since I had a picture of RC presiding over one of mine, I would share it.

Beautiful day, again…

Showgirl just hatched with same markings. Cynthia if you get on here tell me what you think these will be! So cute! So the parentage has to be either my white or black showgirl (she has been called chocolate though so you never know she does have a brown tint to the black) and the Daddy HAS to be Yoshi.

Remember this one that I hatched at the first of the yr.? It looks nothing like this now. It was all silvery looking at hatch, now it has a dark top, and a lot of partridge. Will have to get photos tomorrow. I am keeping this one for a while, hoping it's a girl..it is really cool looking.

The above photo is of all of the sizzle ones from that gal, only had one that didn't hatch. The silvery one is at the right. Would never have guessed it would turn out how it is. The little brown one showing just it's head, is the one that looked like your first photo at hatch. I thought, what is that silkie looking like a chipmunk? lol. Another of it later below. The blacks are the SG's. One is pretty fluffy..more like a shizzle. That big blue is the only sizzle I got. Boy, was it sizzle. I let Brian buy it. I told him, looks like a boy to me. :D

Here is the one that looked like yours does now. It needed some help. Fed it for a while. It is doing great now, and is also a cool looking girl..pretty sure this one is a girl..or it's a tiny boy. :D

She is adorable. Will get some photos. They are having a blast in this warm weather. They are outside in the smaller coop. Heat lamp at night still. They are out bright and early into the run in the mornings. All of these chicks have the most feathering on their feet that I've ever seen!

So interesting Cynthia! These have big patches of black and white on head..about equal parts, then the chipmunk strips with more patches of black and white/silver...then this tiny hint of brown in the center. At first I though it might be tinted from the hatch blood, but it definitely looks brownish. Somebody in my flock is carrying some color genes other than what they show. I really like it though, very unique. Will be fun to see what we get. Love the pics of yours <3
