Utah!

Ok. So a few of the speckled Sussex buyers backed out, so 9 are back on the market!!! Let me know if you're interested before I ksl them.

So tempting but I'd have to wait for the hubby to go out of town and then sneak them home He just hasn't caught chicken fever like I have :) Do you ever sell eggs for hatching? I have a game hen mom that's trying to go broody. She's a wonderful mom but makes the ugliest babies.

I tried to post a video that I have on fb of me and the ducks I hatched, but it is too big for here. :/ They are soo darn cute! If I only had the land for them.

Kevin and I are really considering getting a couple ducklings just to try them out. We went to cal ranch and he picked one up and said I need this haha.

Ducklings are so hard to resist! I have wanted ducks for years, partly because of how cute they are and partly because I want their eggs for baking. Mmmmmm.

Brian, DH keeps teasing me because I go in to check on the duckies (they're in my craft room right now) but then he goes and does the same thing! I'll walk in there and catch him on his hands and knees talking to the babies, hehe :)

Ok so recently my sister has wanted me to try hatching ducks. She took her son to the pond and in the grass on the field all over we're duck eggs. There are some flocks the city takes care of that I guess lay eggs. She called the parks and rec office and they told her the ducks have never hatched the eggs they usually lay them in the field by the ponds and the landscapers have to throw them away when they mow the lawns. I guess they really hate the eggs because they get really gross and smelly when the ducks lay them in the bushes and no one sees them, and the ones in the grass can clog up the mowers vacuum part. So anyway my sister asked if we could take them and they said yes. It's about 22 eggs a day. You just have to go get them but this pond is a 2 minute drive from my house soooo yup duck eggs for free! I've also been checking fertility and so far so good so I may try to hatch some of these mystery ducks. Opinions?

haha that's funny. It's impossible to try and resist the cute fluffy things:)

Brian - Resistance is futile, hahaha ;)

Sambi, sounds like you hit the jackpot! Hmmm, I would bet they're mallards, too. Unless they have all different kinds of ducks?

No eggs this year, but hopefully next. These chicks are still young enough that if you slip them under at night, they should still accept the mommy, I believe. :)
