Thanks Brian. I am worried, though, because the food that was in with them was medicated. DH didn't know any better. He says e doesn't think they ate any, and I hope he's right. Tonight will tell, I guess :/ It was so very sweet of him, though. He knows I have wanted ducks for a while and we had agreed that there would be no ducks until we move to Delta.

saw those ducks at cal ranch, i wanted some so bad lol. i need to get some chicks soon. my wishlist is some sorts of marans and if i can some cream legbars. most my girls are getting up there in age and some have died of old age so getting some more in the flock is a priority.

I would definitely like a Marans of some sort in the distant future. I have to wait until some of my current girls are done and gone, first. My oldest are three or three and a half, I think. Wow.......have I really had chickens that long??

Ducks are so fun! We had ducks for a little while too. I still miss their chattering with each other. That is a sweet husband!

Might I not recommend a cuckoo? Mine started laying moderately dark eggs, I'd call it a rich brown is all, and they slowly lightened to a bit darker than a australorp. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between my cuckoo eggs and my white leghorn x fbcm mixes.
Plus she hasn't laid very well.
But, she has a great personality!!!
