Utah!

Speaking of FBCM...My old roo, Tornado, that gets his butt kicked by the FBCM hens...is gonna have to be put down. I would keep nursing him through the whole tail missing/getting beat up business, but when I got him he was missing partial toes from heavy frostbite at his prior home, so his feet have always been pretty delicate. They are not doing well...we just keep having to put ointments on them and another piece of a toe is turning black. He has hardly anything left for toes. Poor boy he has been through a lot. He is a sweet old boy, I have really tried to take good care of him, and he is monstrously huge, so he is such a majestic creature! It makes me sad but I think he is just not going to heal properly and his time is here. He has been in his own pen for a week and I have just been struggling, but I am really thinking the right thing to do is let him go.

Boo I really hate saying that out loud. :hit

Poor old guy. I'm sorry. :(

Here is my pullet for sale. She was hatched on New Years Day. A barnyard mix, but sure looks like she has some silver Wyondotte in her! Spring eggs, or early summer eggs for sure coming up. :)
hey cynthia I will take this if you haven't already found a home for it:) Does anybody have and chicks or small poultry they are selling?

Sorry about your roo, Lisa. That is hard when you have to put them down, but you will feel better if he is not suffering.

Grrr, I hate that I can't access the emoticons from my phone! I need to give Lisa a hug!

Thanks guys. It really sucks. I am glad I can be a boob on here, my family thinks I am being ridiculous.

As an ode to the ole boy--I got some pics of his daughters to share--some blue /splash marans girls that I will be using with the new rooster. The pics were as the sun was going down, I need to get some in the better daylight...but you can kind of see how they turned out, decent for the first round.

Ok pawtraitart on here- Michelle- has these same birds, I bet she got them from her, QCU Poultry. She has FBCM, Ameraucanas (purebred wheatens) and Blue Orpingtons, among a few other things. I would bet anything that is where they came from. I make a run over there every now and then, hehe :D pics at qcupoultry.com if you want to look and see if the chicks look like blue orps. Straight comb, non feathered feet, light legs, and hers are especially fat.

Here's one more pic of that chick I'm questioning. It definitely does not have light legs so I'm still not sure if it's a blue orp or OE. We shall see. :)

Lisa, so sorry for your big boy. How sad. :(

I'm pretty darn sure that is a pullet. All of the pullets out there that age have big long legs, except for one that is a short little cutie. With feathered legs.

Brian, didn't know you wanted her. Let me know for sure, I can take her off of ksl..you will get a good deal. :)
