I am so glad to hear that others have been doing the "dry" hatches at 30%! I have been keeping my humidity in the 30's. Tomorrow is lockdown and I need to get it up, though. I have an idea I shall implement in the a.m.....

I cut a sponge into a few small pieces and soak them. Then place them all around in there but in places I can reach with my straw and dropper method to re-wet them. Good luck!

So just letting everyone know. @Cynthia12 Was right! My beautiful silkie baby is just fine. I gave her the Vitamins last night and by this morning shes just like new again!

is it like a white/light blue?

slate is a greyish blue color. but yeah cute lil birds. I have one, but poor thing, she's the only one in my flock... she is the 'runt' she gets picked on a lot.

She'll get even stronger. Looks like she is a beautiful, jet black color. Some aren't so black, love the black black ones.

Some of you may remember how I've been looking for a nice black silkie for a long time. I hatched this one out almost 7wks ago. I am soo glad I kept it. Look at that crest & feet! Can't wait to use her with my paints

I was worried about my first time broodie silkie and the snow, but I shouldn't have been. She hatched 3 chicks, 2 Easter eggers and a houdan. (The last egg didn't hatch)

Aww...just curious, where did you get your Houdan egg? Inquiring minds need to know..lol...

I was so surprised because I got the eggs and the seller said they were either a sillkie cross white houdan or a white polish x white houdan. So I should have either a white or blue chick (like the other chick). I guess their sillkie rooster got sneaky because there's my pure black baby with 5 adorable toes! I've named her Nachthimmel, which is German for night sky, we'll call her Mel for short!
