I wouldn't mind having any of you come check out my little set up I need some chicken friends to talk chicken to haha. I can only hold my fiances attention for so long.. I'd love pointers and showing all the hard work that has been put into raising chickens. I also use antibacterial spray for shoes but never have anyone come visit me. My chickens seem to be loving this rain. There have been alot of worms and the chickens aren't letting the rain stop them from eating those worms lol.

Well, luck was on my side today! I managed to snag that incubator and egg turner (used once!) for $25 on KSL! WAHOO! now I can help my son's kinder class hatch some eggs

I'm getting some eggs from Brian, and I think they'll turn out so cute! Hope that I will not screw it up, and that the kids will be able to see some eggs hatching (I'm only doing a dozen, so hopefully I really don't mess it up!).

Any preferred thermometers? (I can go to home depot or walmart, but probably not much else tomorrow...so hopefully one of those two carry it haha)

Since I'm doing this for the classroom, I will be moving them to the class on day 18 so they can watch the last 3 days (that's what the teacher prefers).... You don't think that will cause issues if I'm careful?

Any other advice for a complete noobie that has only watched a few youtube videos, and picked up tidbits here and there off of these forums from you seasoned pros

Sundance, I would totally get a couple of those GCM pullets if I could. I have no more room for birds right now, though. I had to turn down a nice offer for some lovely Bielefelder eggs, too, and it makes me sad. I really like that gold and red barring on the birds. Very lovely eye candy. I hope you get them sold soon.

I love, love that you marked each egg with the name of the hens they came from! The chipmunk NN came from Silver. Two NNs and one non-NN came from Buffy. And one of each for Killer.

I'll make sure and post pics for you tomorrow. They are so cute!!!

How fun..sounds like you have caught the bug!  The hatching bug.  The baby chickies bug.   I think we all know, all too well, how good those chicks are at jumping into carts when we go for, just the feed.  Yep.     That's where I like to get my layers.   Once in a while, the batnams will catch my eye if they aren't serama or other clean legged babies.  I bought two bantam cochin this yr.  At the end of March.  One turned out to be a frizzle!  Darling, but decided to let that one go, and kept the pure white one.  Oh..my..goodness!   She's a doll!   Those legs and feet are sooo feathered, and she is going to be small. Can't wait to see her fill out.  Going to be very pretty.

I love fluffy little chickens! I'm so excited for these little ones to feather out! I'm pretty sure that two are black mottled and two are splash! I kept walking past them and actually got to my car and had to go back inside. I knew that I would be kicking myself if I left them there

Now I just need to figure out what to do with all of these chickens! I just did a head count and I'm at seventeen. 17! My limit is eight! Plus, I have five more in the bator... I think I maybe might have a problem

Hi Ace, Hubby didn't want to just attach and have a run so he's blasting holes in the rock, measuring, and setting posts. They're going to work great once they're in but that might be a few more weeks. He over engineers when in comes to the chickens so at this point there living in a palace but that just means room for more chickens. And the treats were the least I could do! I really do appreciate the panels!!!

Have you talked to your teacher friend lately? Have her eggs started to hatch yet?
