my first chick has hatched it's got 5 toes I'm so eggcited haha. I will post more pictures later when they are all done hatching and dried out.

I'm a sucker for a good cross! Can't wait for the pictures!

I have a question I have 2 chicks that have hatched and they are tearing around the incubator rolling the other eggs everywhere, should I take them out when they dry or are they ok for about 24 hours?

Lots leave them in there. Me, however, being the slight control freak that I am, I can't take watching the eggs roll the wrong way. I get worried about upside down pips and drowning so I spray some mist in the air then crack the bator open and slip them out as quick as possible, then I mist a bit through the crack then shut it. (Yup, control freak lol I totally own it. )

I'm thinking I might have to do the same. For some reason I have a feeling alot won't hatch because they are so early they didn't get properly locked down. An hour after I put them into lockdown I noticed my first pip. I may just take them out so they don't roll the eggs around anymore.

I am too haha. Almost all my chickens are mutts. The 2 eggs that have hatched already are Salmon faverolle/EE. they will be cute. Also have rir, leghorn, marans mixes as well. Let's hope they hatch

I've got 2 eggs that have hatched so Far. They are the SF/ee mix. They are cute. Have another one that has pipped that is in a blue egg. hatching is no addicting lol.

Hatching IS addictive. I had to put away my bator almost two years ago (lots of moving for work) and I can't wait to break it out again. Cute babies!!!
