And speaking of tiny animals, they have mini-jersey cows that are about 40 inches tall. I am dying for one of those!

Newmarch, is that EE the one you posted on the EE sexing thread? What was the consensus? Looks rooster-ish to me. EEs can be so tricky!

Sidewing, I would go for egg color, personally. And I love a blue chicken myself.

Everyone else, I had a hen who would walk around just kind of shaking her. I thought it was something born into her, she is a hatchery bird. Suddenly many of my hens are doing it, and they have baldish patches on their heads. I thought it was my rooster... So we ate him... OK, some of it WAS my rooster. He had started really man-handling the ladies. I thought they would grow back, once we got rid of the offending roosfer, but they seem to be getting worse. I have read that the head shaking can indicate a lice problem. But I've looked over a few hens, and haven't seen any lice. I'm getting some ashes to mix into the dirt in their run, just in case. Any thoughts anyone? I've read a few article on BYC, and everything points to lice. But I'd think I would see some evidence of the little critters looking the hens over. Maybe they are just molting? That rooster really was plucking a few of them, more or less. Poor girls. Maybe they just haven't had time to regrow?

I'm so jealous! My husband is on the fence about it, so we will see in a few years. He let's me run wild with all my ridiculous chicken obsessions. He is such a champ about the chickens! I really just need to find a way to make him feel like the little cow was his idea...

Everyone says rooster possibility but she is now almost 13 weeks and her comb is tiny and peach and single, her legs are thin, she is a scaredy bird, she has all rounded tail feathers, she is tiny. I am going with pullet for now till I hear a crow.....mind you I still have not heard a crow from the obviously male Brahma lol.

All of their legs are scrawny too, even the one with the large comb. They are only 8 weeks, though. I'm pretty sure one of my 13 week old black-tailed red leghorns is a cockerel. Starting to get the feathers. He heard a loud sound the other day, and did the tall "stand and stare". ha ha ha He is going to be gorgeous. Mine always seem to take a while to finally crow. Hopefully this guy will be more gentle than out last one...

I hope yours turns out to be whatever gender you want it to be. ha ha ha

Ha I am hoping for a hen but if it does turn out to be a rooster it wont break my heart to ger rid of it....not the sweet enjoyable breed I read about lol.

Congratulations! I have been wondering how that crazy air cell one was doing. Keep us updated on that one. So suspenseful!
