Utah!

So it's official now. I have a beautiful Tolbunt rooster who needs a home. He is free. The only condition I am asking is that he be kept alive and I get sent the occasional picture :) he's a sweet boy, and I will miss him.

He is just shy of 8 weeks. Please get back to me if you want him.

UPDATE: this is being edited to update that he has been rehomed to a great place!

I think one of my older hens might have a minor prolapsed vent. I want to try to give her a bath tomorrow to clean the droppings off. Any tips for a first timer?

I haven't had a rooster with my laying hens in over a year. All my Serama roosters are caged and are never loose. I am getting eggs that have veins in them like they are fertile. Any ideas anyone? It was so nice to see Whitney and Lisa again The chicken train at work and I'm the depot LOL

I wish I could have stayed longer. I miss visiting with you and Ed. And it sounds like maybe you have a stealth rooster hidden among your hens. That, or it's the weird thing that happens where non-fertile eggs start developing :/

One of my turkey hens showed up yesterday with four adorable little babies in tow :) So if anyone wants to get into turkeys, I'll have some available soon, haha.

Cynthia, how are you doing today?

awww congrats! wish i could get away with having turkeys.

Well, this morning I took my broody, miss Chickula, out of her broody prison, and put her back in the coop. Still haven't seen her on the nest. thank you all for help!
glad to hear that :)

Hi! Haven't been here in ages, life has been busy and I've been trying to keep my flock at a low number haha. I have a fun story to share now so I thought I'd drop in.
A hen and a duck went broody on the same nest, and they're still sitting together after I moved them into a large dog crate. They've always gotten along really well and now this! It's adorable. They both team up and have a hissy fit whenever I come over.

I don't think I want to split them up if I don't have to, they seem to be getting along just fine. I have some SFH, EE/SFH, and BLRW/SFH eggs under them now. Really hoping they stay put!

That's great. You should get pics. The chicks might be awful confused when they're born. :)
