Utah!

Hi! Haven't been here in ages, life has been busy and I've been trying to keep my flock at a low number haha. I have a fun story to share now so I thought I'd drop in.
A hen and a duck went broody on the same nest, and they're still sitting together after I moved them into a large dog crate. They've always gotten along really well and now this! It's adorable. They both team up and have a hissy fit whenever I come over.   I don't think I want to split them up if I don't have to, they seem to be getting along just fine. I have some SFH, EE/SFH, and BLRW/SFH eggs under them now.  Really hoping they stay put! :fl

Hey Joy! You still have Shirley in your bathtub? Lol I still have Laverne, she even gave me a nice egg a few days ago.

I thought it'd be cute to make a little story book about them. Accidentally messed up the black pattern on my duck's face but oh well. I'm hoping most of the story will go "and they sat, and sat, and sat."

I figure if I spend all my time at the computer drawing them I won't be spending that time sitting by the nest bothering them.

I know some people suggest putting them in water just up over their back. Not too cold just cool water and holding them in there for 5 min. It sounds rough, but I saw a guy on youtube do it and he hen didn't even seem to care. I only have pullets right now so I'm not sure what I will do when my SLWs go broody.

I don't have experience with them, but those wattles are pretty small for 12 weeks. I would lean towards pullet.

Does anyone have a male chucker that they can part with? I really need one. I am embarrassed to say I let the male go accidently and now the hen doesn't have a mate
I don't have any chukars, but I wouldn't mind them at some point :)
Here are my broody couple! Don't mind the mud on her feathers, she got into a puddle during her break off the nest yesterday.
Your duck is beautiful! Ancona? And I love the drawings. Good job!
