Utah!

Rcstanley, let us know when she lays! :)

Newmarch, good job! I'm sure it will help to protect your flock more from contracting the flu, too. We need to move our run and get some netting to go over the top. I'll be excited to get the old spot all tilled up :)

Well my flock must have heard about the whole end of the world thing, because a couple of them flew the coop. My duck hen is gone and the rooster I was saving to butcher took off. Figures.

How does a Cornish X take off? Are there any feathers? You might have a coyote.

Nope, not Cornish X. He was one of the Icelandics I hatched this year. I hope we don't have a yote down this far. Fox, maybe?

Maybe. I'm so sorry. I wonder if animal control would lend you a trap. They do that sometimes if you call them and ask.

i am sorry :( hate to say it but you would have yotes there tho i dont know if that is what got your birds. coyotes live everywhere in the state, from down town to the suburbs etc, they adapt to anywhere and they reproduce fast. have heard them in my neighborhood. a lot of them are getting a lot more brave too. the one thing is if you get one remember they have the bounty program so you could get some money back
