Utah!

Just a quick check in here. SideWing:
Utah's Constitution is written such that if a law does not strictly prohibit a thing, it is not illegal.
So if it is not specifically stated that roosters are not allowed, they ARE allowed. will work on finding the pertinent code specifically for the future.
I have forgotten more about Utah code than I care to admit.
Cynthia, Where are you?

I'm in Spanish Fork

I just pour water into it... they drink out of it great.
Did you have any bantams using the dog bowl? I was looking at how tall it was and I'm sure my full sized girls would have no problem, not sure about the bantam broodies and their 9 week old chicks. Of course they'll be bigger by the time it actually freezes (I hope).

I figured I'd try an experiment. The dog bowl I picked up from IFA is the same height as one of those "gallon" pails of cheap ice cream from walmart, so I filled one up with water and stuck it in the coop. I put a brick next to it for the chicks to get up on if needed. I'll see if they drink out of it.

Glad things worked out!
