Happy Late Thanksgiving! I am thankful for my chicken friends.

I learned of a neat way to skin pheasants a few days ago, and I'm wondering if it will make the chicken processing process easier!

I've never cooked pheasant before. Howo Es it taste? Any suggestions how to cook it?

Had some really sad chickens this morning. It's our first snow of the season and when I opened up the coop, Jesse (or maybe Jamie) poked her head out, looked around, then practically said 'this is BS' and went back inside.

I raked the snow a bit to show them that it was indeed still earth and that helped, but they still aren't very happy about it.

My chickens too. Took one look outside and I could hear them thinking "we're chickens not penguins". All except my Easter egger who got two bowls of mash to herself since no one else would come out.

That's what happened with my white leghorn. Except, it was hot water. She didn't even seem to notice the snow.

I like pheasant. It has a little more flavor than your store bought chicken, just generally very little fat, so be careful not to overcook it or it can get dry and tough fairly quickly. I have an Italian herb infused olive oil I like to drizzle over it and then fry the filleted breasts over medium heat. Pretty simple.

That would be perfect. I'll think about the eggs, have never hatched any before, so, I'll need to give that some thought, thanks.

 They are so beautiful, I love the fluffy fannies.  I really want one next spring, just debating if hatchery would be the way to go since good laying and smaller size are important to me. 

The splash in this pic is my English orp. So fluffy! I love her! The buff butt in the lower left is a hatchery BO.
