I am in West Jordan. I am new to this Forum. I don't have any chickens yet and am trying to learn as much as I can before I obtain them! Dee

Welcome Dee! BYC is the best place in the world to learn about back yard chickens!
Do you know what the laws are in West Jordan? I ~think~ there is a limit of 6 chickens.

Marty

HI Marty!
I'm not sure about the chicken ordinance in WJ. I think I heard 5 egg laying and 5 chicks. Looking into it. Our neighbor has chickens, so we will ask him.

hi dee. i am in west jordan too. yeah the limit is 5 and you have to pay the fee. i live in a neighborhood where most people don't go by that limit and there are people who even have ducks, goats, chickens, pheasants and i think turkeys. i only have chickens and i just cant say how many i have

chickens are a blast for sure. its amazing how many people keep chickens undercover around here. i myself don't tell everyone about my girls but there are a bunch that know because we kinda have a club going on. most people think my coop is just a shed for lawn equipment. i am not saying if my girls are illegal or not but most people around here are.

You're lucky. Our ladies announce to the entire neighborhood where they live, but I guess we're not fooling anyone since we have a rooster too.
