Where are they right now? In doors or out..how old? lol..let's see...do you have a light on them if they are still babies? Sounds like you have a coop ready for them, so they must be outside. I personally lock my chickens up at night in the coop so nothing can get them. Then I was letting them out in the back yard, no problems until last week..a cat! This was a small pullet.

I hatched that baby!
Keep your babies as safe as possible..a lot of predators out there!

They must be young. I have one pullet that will start probably the end of July, but I am one of those impatient people..I want that leghorn sized egg...now!
Really though, thanks..Spanish Fork too ey? Boy, this BYC has people from every little where.

I love this town.

I love Spanish Fork as well

So calm and quiet

Spanish Fork, Payson, or Mapleton are the places I most want to live

Come over and move to Benjamin..it's close to Spanish Fork, and you can have lots of chickens!!

Thanks for the tip! The lady I got them from didnt' have them under a light, so, neither do I. I am having a hard time leaving them out there tho...I've been running out to the back yard to check on them every 10 minutes. What eats chickens in Orem do you suppose? Cats? I've never seen any racoons or anything like that here...but now I'm worried. hmmm....

I didn't know where that was lol

I'll have to look it up sometime. But if it's in the S.F. Payson, and Mapleton Area, it HAS to be nice!!!

Hey everybody

Me again in Orem. I'm looking for anyone that has an automatic egg turner for a Hova-Bator or a Little Giant. I have each of those incubators and just wanted to make life easier by only having to turn one by hand

If anyone near me has one, please let me know. Thank you! please email me

I'm going to message you which feed store it was.

Can you please message me also. I'm new to chicks and I had to get mine from a certain feed store because the other one sold out. I wasn't to impressed but with tips from friends I got lucky and my chicks are still here at 5 weeks old and seem healthy. My friend lost half of hers that she bought at that store.

Definitely. I sent you a message.

I know I've mentioned Sunnybrooke Farm a couple times, but my chicks I got there have been great. It seems like the chicks get more attention in a little boutique kind of operation like that. I purposefully avoided the feed store to lessen the risk of the very issues you all are talking about.

For all those in Davis, Utah and Salt Lake Counties, it's not too far of a drive and may save some hassle next time.

Just a thought.

I'm not ready for chicks yet but when we are I will probably go to SunnyBrooke, I've been looking at her ads on ksl.

always prepare for the worst predators. my old neighborhood is by copper hills high school and for some reason they keep getting mountain lions there but not a lot of people would think it happens. that is sad about all you guys having chick problems :(there is a reason i did not go with chicks. i bet i could guess what feed store you got them from... hen-thusiast you are welcome to send me a message if you have time
