It's official...Brigham City's ordinance is now in place. I'm not sure if they have it up on their website http://brighamcity.utah.gov/ or not yet, but the city planner sent me the packet that they hand out, it has the ordinance, the paperwork you need to fill out and submit and some articles on raising backyard chickens written by the USU extension office. You can also find it on a link in my post at http://brighamcitychickens.blogspot.com/2011/05/put-on-your-party-hats.html.
It would be great to get a local chicken group together in Brigham either in person or at least on the internet to start.

Love your BYC page, and love your last post link...chickens..were on the>>Today Show...yaay!
Now I have to ask, do YOU name your chickens.?
Anyone want to share names? I will start..Grumbles..she goes around with the most unusual chicken cluck..can't really call it a cluck. So, since it's a low grumbling sound...
She's funny.
Name them? Of course! Rosie and Red (both Rhode Island Reds), Wheezy (Black Austrolorp), Henriette (hen for short--White Leghorn), Olga (countess Olga- Black Polish) and Sam (Sam-I-am, Green egg laying Ameracauna).
Here are 3 of them:

Ha, I also have a gal named red..imagine that..she's a RIR too. I wonder how many reds are out there...nice looking birds BTW!
I'm loving Rosies wattles. cute! love pictures..here's Grumbles...will have to post on different area..not good at posting pictures!
a few of mine have names so far and i am sure sooner or later i will name the rest. i have sweet cheeks and chipmunk the ee's, a black star named miss b (she is a very grumpy hen so i think you know what the b stands for lol). its been hard to name them because i only have 3 breeds so there are some that look alike but now that they have leg bands it is better so now i am slowly figuring what names fit best for each hen.
