Utah!

Hello everyone I have two white silkie roosters that are about 4 months old and unfortunately I have to find them a new home. I am a little nervous putting them on ksl because I don't want them to go to someone that doesn't care for them properly and give them a good home so I was hoping to find someone on here that might want them I figure most people on here are people that really care for chickens so if your interested let me know thank you

Betsy died tonight, in my lap, while I was trying to clean her eye. She acted ok but then was gone. We weren't pushing hard on her and she could breathe fine, I had just got some new stuff to try but didn't even get that far. My daughter thinks that maybe that weird eye infection went into her brain.

One of a kind chicken who thought she was a chihuahua. My heart is broke, I'm going to miss her. RIP my fluffy Bets...

I'm so sorry. It's amazing how attached we get to them. When one of ours passes, I always remind myself they had a better life than most chickens.

does anyone know a good cheap chicken vet in utah? one of my favorite hens has bumblefoot and it is not looking the best and i even did the surgery. i think i can clear it up on my own but want to have a back up plan just in case. also anyone know around how much a vet could charge? this girl is very special to me and it would kill me to loose her. i live in the west jordan area but may be able to travel if i have to

Go to KSL and ask that you are looking...may help besides just the watching? Too bad you didn't ask a few weeks ago, I know this helps a lot..I had quite a few I hatched out. Sorry!

I check ksl everyday. If you do too you can find what you are looking for. I know I have seen a few ads lately for them. If you are searching, try ameraucana as many people list EE's as them even though most aren't, and try to spell it many different ways because people spell it wrong most of the time. (Hopefully i spelled it right here

Check KSL, there are a lot of people selling pullets.

There is this one lady in PG,that is selling many chickens breeds. Here is one of her ads- http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=15728489&cat=113&lpid=&search= wyandotte and that ad shows only a few of the breeds she has. She has many. Most are guaranteed girls, and the ages vary but all are young. I just bought a blue laced red wyandotte from her. She must have 400 birds and they looked healthy- great to at least check out.

Does anyone around here breed indian runner ducks? Or know where I might find one close by? I am in Orem

There is a vet a Silver Creek Animal Clinic here in Park City that does hawks. Last name Stein I believe. Office visit is $44 and then + whatever it takes.

I wanted to take Betsy to him but the husband said he'd rather chop off his own head than pay a vet bill for a chicken. Guess I shoulda let him....

I'm so sorry to hear this.

Hugs to you for caring for her so tenderly - she was certainly one of a kind.

Thanks both of you. I've lost chickens before but nothing has ever been this painful. If maybe I just put the new stuff in her eye without trying to hold & clean her she'd be alive, I keep thinking maybe I killed her.
