thank you! i put a lot of thinking into my coop and i am happy someone likes my ideas

my coop is also in a area that is protected from wind for the most part. oh and one of the trees is a apple tree that hangs over the run so all the windfall apples feed the girls. simple things can make a huge difference. i love landscaping so if i can use it to save money then i love it even more. when its sunny out i can feel the heat coming into the coop from the roof and my coop stays at around the same temperature at about 55f

so anyone into black friday shopping? i love how with lowes you can buy online and pick up in the store and you can shop online starting at 12 am tonight but that may be on east coast time because i just bought a 6 foot fiberglass ladder to keep in my coop $19. they also have a bunch of other things i think would be great for chickens for cheap like some flip top storage containers that i think would make sweet nests if you cut a hole in the side or something. is it sad that when shopping i always ask myself "what can the girls use this for?" or "how can i use this in the coop?" i may just be crazy

I'm curious as to what you'd need a ladder for in your coop?

I hate hoardes of people, all desperate for a deal, so I generally try to avoid shopping on black friday.

I posted an ad for walnuts, and have been watching people come up and clean them up from my yard. It's been lovely.

i will use it to get on the coop, dealing with the apple tree next to it and anything i need a ladder for around it. we do have another ladder but its heavy so it is just convenient to have one on hand out there. it was cheap so it was worth it. now if it was much more than what i paid i would think twice i think.

An info bit for anyone storing a ladder near a coop:
If it has round rungs, make sure the chickens can't access it. Round rungs on ladders or round dowels can cause Bumblefoot.
Just passing on a caution in case it it's useful in any situations.

thank you for the advice. my latter has flat rungs

my latter is just a good cheap latter that is light. moving our little giant ladder out to the coop was killer on my heart and made me sick for days so this ladder has been a very good tool to keep in the coop
