Cynthia, so many babies! I hope you have good luck with these ....How are your chicks doing, are they hanging in there, the remaining ones? I do not know how you can keep track of all these eggies Hope the lavs and blue/black splashes do great and give you lots of girls! Crossing fingers~!!

I keep track on the calender. Set dates, lock down dates, and hatch dates.

hey elkmtn, did you say your husband had problems with tools rusting? tell him cloth bags of chalk in thee tool box will fix that, and when you get those little packets that come in coats, shoes, etc that absorbs moisture be sure to throw those in the tool box. they also sell little bars by the name of zrust that will do the same thing, you can find them at lowes, cabelas, it was developed by the navy to prevent rust on ships, subs etc.

I bet I speak for all, we like pictures! I feel kinda stupid

but is the swing for people or chickens? cause I can totally see a chicken using it. We have a thick electrical wire ran across the ceiling of the coop to another light. We have one chicken that loves to swing on it. You can see that she's doing it intentially cause if it slows down, she'll get it going again.

Guess I feel like posting pics today..check out what Melissa Rose sent me, she sent some out to those that were in on the Christmas hatch..that was so much fun on that thread. She is fun! It's a chicken swing! lol... in case ya couldn't tell..

And, I have a lavender trying to start a zip..it has broken quite a bit more shell..I'm excited to see these.

Look Lisa, no collar. I am without it more and more. I have a hard time in the mornings from sleeping without it though, so may go back to sleeping with it on once in a while, wean myself off of it slower at night.

Yep, a chicken swing.

I just got off the phone with McMurry. They are sending me more chicks. She had me name how many of each chick that I had left, and, of the ones that look if.ish..right now.
I decided to wait until the middle of March before having them sent. I don't want to go through this again. No paying for shipping or anything, just sending me more!
And, Lisa, I asked her about the Araucana an Ameraucanas..I told her I didn't order any Ameraucanas, she said it's Aruacana/Ameraucana...that's what I was thinking when I saw them, hatchery EE's. Except, there were some Araucana in there, no butts, longer legs..they were cute.
The yellow EE is soo sweet and mellow. It's face is just a big fluff ball now. Big puffs..cute as can be.

4 pips now in my lavenders! I think I'll let myself go ahead and get excited.

There's someone selling 4 brooders right now on KSL ($75 each). Nice design. I have one I make out of puppy pen panels that I can take down and put away. yeah... chick sucker is stamped across my forehead!

The are EE's but I do think they have true ones in their breeding line cause I got the blue banty that you said is about as pure Aruacana as you can get and she lays a blue robin egg. She's a doll! and from McMurray!

and very cool they'll put off the delivery. I didn't know they'd do that. YEAH for ya!

i am going to stock up on feed andd pine shavings today. the cal ranch ad had coupons in it for the feed i use and pine shavings. i know i sound crazy, because i am lol. i just love to save money and $3 off each bale of shavings and $2 off each bag of food with no limit helps a lot

Yay for mcMurray! It sounds like they are being very good about the chicks. That makes me happy for you! AND it is good to know about the whole Am/Ar/EE mystery solved, that is awesome you had the chance to ask for sure. It would be fun to get lucky and get some that really had lots of the Araucana traits like Elk....Aw blue robin eggs, I am sooooo jealous. I feel like I will never get a blue egg haha! My white EE started out with a couple eggs that looked quite blue tinted and have gotten more and more grayish green as she lays. Got my hopes up haha stinker, she is teasing me because she knows In my quest to get blue eggs I am going to end up with a dozen EEs and lots of green eggs, way more than I intended
