Utah!

that cemetery is where most of my family that has died since it opened is buried and it will be my final resting spot too. my dad was so sweet and said he was going to buy me a plot. we have not had winder dairy since around 1995 but we will buy from their store. i like farmers markets for produce or even those mexican markets. with the mexican markets they will have good produce for cheap, like watermelon for 10lbs for a dollar, it makes it easy to feed chickens extra nice treats

Here are some pics of my dark one I took back that night after meeting with Lisa, and, the tiger face.
Sorry, these are blurry, I really don't have the greatest camera..this is front face of the dark one
Can you see the puff on my tiger face..?
There is some tail coming out on this one, I called it tiger face because of the coloring and stripes in it's face. They change so fast. So, what do you think..too soon to say boy or girl, but I think girls so far.
Pretty sure this one is a boy now. Glad you didn't take this one Lisa. The top two.

Cynthia--My dark brown one that matches yours is looking boy I think too ......the striped chipmunky ones' wings just keep getting longer and the brown ones are staying pretty short and stubby, if that is anything to go by. Feet are about the same, combs about the same in size, the brown ones' is more orange though, and the tails are about the same. Still not positive, just thinks it looks like a boy. I LOVE these two chicks though! I am hoping they are girls because I do not want to part with either of them.

My white chick has one tiny pin feather I noticed this afternoon on the top of her wing coming in dark. So splash I will call it now for sure. Still wondering about the legs, they are not slate, they are yellowish green. light. My lavs are/were dark from the start with the exception of some pink toes, they usually are slate on Amerauc. right? Where you got the chipmunk and the tiny black possible Ameraucana/Iowa cross from this hatch I have to still wonder if mine is a cross too---but the other breeds were dark---is it possible the light colors of the mom prevailed ? Would that even work that way? It has tiny cheeks too. Now I know it is not albino though haha! Crazy babies just keep me guessing.

I am now not sure what those guys sent me, and it sounds like they don't know for sure either. They say they are sending me pure Ameraucanas out tomorrow. The original that I thought I was getting. They say they show their birds, and have no idea what happened, other than someone got out and into the wrong pen. Guess it happens. Hope the next ones turn out right.
I do have the others that are due in about two and half weeks from that gal that sent me the puffy ones. I am so looking forward to seeing those. They are soo cute and fluffy, as you well know.
So, new pure Ameraucanas on their way..BBS, the Araucanas are due in a couple of weeks.
Sold lots of BO's, have a guy coming tomorrow to see the rest.
Sold the rest of the Australorp. I have one EE that I kept out of that puffy cheeked hatched, tiger face. :) Think it's a girl. I want a dark one that's a girl, I will have to keep a couple of possibles this time around. They are so darn cute. Boy, I'm going to have a lot of colored eggs this year.
Still thinking my black EE is a girl, yaay... I have kept what I want so far, and I'm starting to look at what hens will go this spring. My barred rock still hasn't laid an egg. She squats all the time now! Little stink! Lay already. lol.. She sure is getting pretty. Scott likes her too.
I have a speckled sussex I got from McMurrys, that lived..that I am keeping. Also a NH. Boy, that NH is getting big and feathering out pretty quick, just like they say they do. She will be laying before the speckled sussex for sure. McMurry is sending me my others on the 11th. All pullets. Thinking I may want to keep a white orpington after all, plus a rose comb leghorn. I wonder what the mystery chick will be, they said they will send me another. Never did find out what the other was. I went ahead and gave that one to Hector. Not sure he knows either! I hope it isn't a rooster. Sometimes they do that, send cockerels even though you put through an order of pullets. They just throw what ever is hatched at the time I guess.
Getting windy here again! I know we are in for a lot of moisture this week, snow, rain, snow/rain slush. Guess we need it though.

Lots of fun new ones for you! Sounds like you are getting a cute flock together. My BR laid just shy of 6 months. Her eggs sure are nice though, worth the wait. Hope you get your brown girl from the puffy faced bunch! I may switch out a couple of my last year's CAL ranch hens this summer, those guys are STILL out there fighting and eating feathers. They stop for a bit if i remove one, but then back at it a week or two later. Thank goodness they mess with each other, and not with the new ones so far. My two black EE just ignore them. Here is a pic from my web cam of my wyandotte. Look at her tail! One feather left So sad! She was so beautiful before. Much happier with my newer chickens and my IFA chickens from last summer.

One big long feather on her butt! Look close...right behind her on the roost is my little bantam. Staying on the roost, not broody again yet :)

Good morning!

Aww poor thing. She must be a sweet bird, not aggressive at all towards the others. She sure has pretty lacing! Now to get that tail back. And congrats on NOT having a broody girl!

She's sitting pretty, but on a roost!

Cynthia - An Andalusian? I'm jealous. I'd mob somebody for a blue Andy! How old is your BR?

And which Cal Ranch did you go to? I'm considering ordering chicks through them, but it would be the store out in Tooele, since that's where my birds are. Until then, I settle for sneaking into IFA to hear the siren song of chicks............

I didn't hatch her, I got her as a chick from someone around here though, and I'm thinking she is 6 or 7 months old! I got her in the summer.

Spanish Fork Cal Ranch is where I saw those chicks. They weren't that bad last year. Hey, some IFA's are great. Ours here in Spanish Fork are a lot better than the Provo one! I've never seen it real dirty in our IFA in Spanish Fork. If they get any RIR's, I'm considering getting one from them. I know what they call RIR, is a just a production RIR, and more of a sex link, but they lay well! That would be one of my good layers for my next flock.

We have a Blue Andalusian as well. My Wifes favorite bird by far and the prettiest chicken I have ever seen. Her comb is epic in size as well. The only issue I have with her is that she can fly! Well she flies compared to what the other chickens I have can do. Last fall I watched her easily fly over our 6 foot fence in the backyard into my neighbors. I can no longer let her free range out of the pen because she just hops the fence like it isn't even there. I got her locally as well. There are a couple of people in Utah county that get them in. Watch KSL and you should start seeing them soon, but they go fast.
