Utah!

Elk - Depending on what you'd ask for the Ands, I might be able to scrape something together to buy a couple off you. just checking, but they're not males, right? They would likely be living in a no-rooster area. Thanks for the offer!

msemanuel - That coop is looking fantastic! When you're done there, feel free to come work at my house

I want some of the $2 chicks...which part of UT are you in?

I'm in Bountiful.

Looks like only six out of the 12 are going to hatch after the humidity disaster.

I'm going to give them another day or so, but I'm not real hopeful at this point, poor little things. I'm going online now to get the automatic humidity tray filler so this doesn't happen on the next set!

Not much since you're a friend on this board. :) Plus you hv a drive (I'm outside however my husband works in SL M-F 7-3:30pm if that helps. What do you hv to trade chick or chicken wise? (if you hv extra and not that I NEED any lol). Or how about a bag of Layena? I'll check if I hv 2 or 3. No roos, hens last yr's babies. They are nicer than I thought they'd be - they are one of the first to run up for treats.

If they're shrink wrapped, you may need to help them out. It's ok to help them out in a situation like this.

I'm pretty leery of helping them out-- the last two times I did that ended pretty badly. The chicks couldn't walk at all (couldn't even stand) and, despite hand feeding them vitamins and water, and sugar water, they failed to thrive and ended up dying rather miserably. Still, I'm thinking these ones are just shrink-wrapped, not actually sickly or weak (though they might be by now), so I may give it a go once more.

Okay, so I broke down and helped the two stuck chicks out. The other four eggs aren't pipped or making any noise,

The two I helped out are moderately frantic and can't seem to get their legs under them, but I will give them a few hours and see what happens. I've put them back in the hatching tray for now to keep them warm and safe. I really hate this...
