if it does not kill it the first time just dump some more on it later. like i said its not as fasst as roundup but its natural so its worth it to me. i love the stuff. i get mine at costco, $5 for two one gallon jugs

Thanks for the info. I always keep lots of that stuff around for pickling beets and sanitizing cutting boards, and all kinds of household stuff, had no idea it would kill weeds too.

Cynthia--cute pics! Hope you get feeling better. The rain bother you? Humidity makes my back hurt. Weird. I feel like my grandma saying that---she could always tell when it was going to snow or rain because her arthritis bothered her. I totally get it! Hope you can get some rest.

Check out that short hair! It is going to get cut like that again soon, when it gets warmer! :) Cute little baby chicks, think these were just barn yard mixes.

Well, we're huge fans of fire, so I like the fire idea. That would be fuuuuuuuun.

That frizzle chick is so awesome. I love it.

Cynthia, don't be worrying about me; I have at least 2-3 upcoming hatches, so I'll have plenty of babies.

Yes Brad, I've hear that vinegar does a good job on those weeds too. I need to get some out, that wouldn't hurt the chickens at all, in fact, vinegar is good for them! They don't like the sticker weeds..the ones I think folks are calling the goat weed? Puncture weed is what we call them. Great on bicycle tires!

Ok, so, Baily is not a good broody mom. I went to check for the sound of peeps, and see a little chick laying outside of her, on it's tummy, looked fattened out, I just knew it was dead, and of course, it had to be one of those fluffy fluffy faced ones, with the grey body. Scott was just coming outside, and I walked up to him and showed him, and I'm going on telling him that it was one of the ones that I was hoping to get. Then, it moved! I yell..literally.. it moved! I ran inside, turned on a heat lamp in my broody bin that is in waiting for newly hatched, hold the baby up close to the heat, and watch. Man that baby was cold, it must have hatched way early in the morning when it was dark, and Baily may have been calling to it to come, but it couldn't see. The baby sure didn't look like it was going to make it. I was so mad at myself for not getting out there earlier.
But, it is doing great.
Baily got up off of the nest, and went to drink and eat. So, I just brought in the other eggs that are more than pipped, could see that the one is already starting to shrink wrap because she won't stay on the nest. Her baby is calling, she just stays over there eating and clucking. Not yet Baily..they can't eat yet. She went back to the baby finally, I wasn't too worried about it, looks strong. But, I moved her and the baby into the nursery hutch. I have a heat lamp on for just in case, When I see that the baby will go under mom most of the time, I will put them back in the area we made for them.
She is in the back part of the little coop away from the heat, so all is fine with those two. Not sure I am going to put the others out with her. Will wait and see.
Got a pictures of little fluffy..a little miracle chick..everyone, help with a name. For a miracle baby. ??

Yeah, they're real nice on calf hide gloves, too. I hate those goat head weeds. I have to dig them up at work so they don't kill the wheelbarrow tires. I like it better when I can work in the Bobcat

Best dang method of weed-be-gone I've ever used (or at least, the funnest) Just lower your bucket and scraaaaaaaape!

Ugh.....was going to comment on something else here, but I just had a brainfart. I just can't keep up right now.

Cynthia--what a story! lucky Girl. There ya go--what about 'Lucky' haha! It is one of the brown coffee colored ones----I had gotten one of those from you, do you still have yours? Mine is looking like a boy----they get white pin feathers, the white overtakes the brown almost completely. I will have to post a pic, really cool looking. His wings are all white now with little splashes of brown. Comb is turning red though :( Not a good sign. The little stripey one will be my girl. Remember what we talked about at Red Lobster----the brown one came from a blue egg, the striped one from a green egg, I said "just watch the blue egg one will be a boy and the green egg one will be a girl.". My Green chicken thumb rears its ugly head again haha!

Hope that one is a girl for you. She looks sweet. And she is a survivor!
