Look how cute! I think I see some grey on those cute little legs..pink feet, grey on legs. They are going to be a pretty color aren't they? Thinking splash...especially the second one..see the black dot on the nose? How fun!

Cynthia, you are hilarious!!! How does your chick compare?

Here's a head on shot of my lav am that I'm thinking is a boy. I didn't notice saddle feathers til I was looking at the pictures, but yeah, it does look an awful lot like saddle feathers coming in, doesn't it? I can keep a rooster here. I was leaning towards keeping a BCM (since I figure I'll end up with one), but maybe I'll keep this guy instead.


I'm sorry if I'm driving you crazy with pictures, I know i'm posting an awful lot.
This is the new chick, still slightly wet. Next to her is the lav am/bcm split.

Cynthia---I was wondering about it being splash. So the BBS thing, I do not understand it, but if the mom and dad are both blue there can be the possibility of all three BBS in chicks right? So would the Black ones be black when they get big? I might keep one Now I want to keep one of each to see how they turn out. Glad you are getting some Red so I can see them when they grow out a bit.

BUT as I am taking these closeups I am seeing way more red around the eyes than I previously had noticed. **sigh** I think the saying "be careful what you wish for" applies to my comment about him turning red a few posts ago.

Sphinx, don't stop with the pictures! I love it when people put up pictures of their birds. I don't care how many times I've seen the same bird. I still love it. And your babies are so charming. I gotta agree with Lisa - love the shot with the Marans little white bum, hehe.

Cynthia, I'll go have a look see. Some of those lookalikes are pretty funny to see. When's the deadline for voting?

Lisa, I have no idea what your lav. is, but he/she has a striking face. Pretty! I've got a monochromatic flock, too. It was more pronounced before the raccoon wiped out half the birds, but it was all black, white, and gray

And totally not on purpose.

I've got 3 ducklings out! Looks like the twins egg, wasn't twins afterall :/ I've got 3 adorable black ducklings with yellow little chests. The last duck is pipping away and I can hear it crying for help I am so proud of myself. I have resisted reaching in and grabbing the ducky that's all fluffed up It's really hard though Here's a few pictures I took last night when the first baby hatched.
The pics were taken with my phone through the incubator window on zoom. So they are not the best quality LOL. I promise better ones when they are all cute and fluffy in their brooder.
