Utah!

Phoenix---so hard to choose! I like #2 better I think---but the more rounded crest the more likely girl. If there is one rounder than the other save that one. Hard to tell from the pictures :) Or just save me #2 if they look the same to you. Thanks!

Chiko--a pic of my WR. So cute and fluffy. And my messy garage :/

I was born and raised in Utah.. almost all of my family, (parents, 6 siblings and their families) all live in Cache Valley... so I still claim Utah...  My wife is from Idaho Falls, we have lived here 11 years and I love it here too...

I've lived in Utah for 11 years also :) California for 3 years then moved here :) I like it here but my dream place to live in the US is...Dallas :p

She's fluffy! Reminds me of buff orpingtons. Really thin birds but big feathers make them look like meat birds :D I like her :) Thanks for sharing.

Corvidae I keep trying to come up with a reason I need a BLRW. They are so beautiful!

x2. I keep slapping my own hand, hehe. I already have quite a few chicks/chicks on the way, as it is.

So, I thought it was kind of cute - I had to clean out the brooder and the teens' "apartment" tonight, so I had to transfer everyone to the brooder first, and then the apartment while I cleaned the other living space. With four birds who are 6-7 weeks old and three babies from 2-4 ish weeks, I was sure someone was going to be getting picked on. The older girls are MUCH bigger than the little babies. I cleaned out the apartment, came back to check on everyone, and found that not only were they getting along splendidly, but the babies were mimicking the older girls and pecking around wherever their sisters were in the paper shavings. It was so cute, and I was glad that no one was fighting.

Hey Lisa, I am still so in love with these babies I got from you. Angel has been doing this thing the last couple of days where if I put my hand in the brooder, she will come over and step up into my palm. I can still see a little remnant of the umbilical cord on both her and her sister, and it is so stinking cute. The older girl tends to be more of a drama queen about being picked up, but tonight when I was moving her around, I found the 'off' button. I just started rubbing my thumb lightly on part of her collarbone, and she settled right down, tucked her head in, and shut her eyes. Even when I'm cleaning up after them, I enjoy having chickens around so much.

And, I got a picture of Angel's enormously long wings. What do you guys think about this? Pretty cool, no?

The feathers even go out a little further than it shows here, since they're kind of curled against my hand. There's not much missing, but yeah, she has glorious wings.

(Hey Lisa, don't worry about the state of your garage. I got ya beat, hehe)

Aw those long skinnies are getting to be long fluffies :) She is so cute, makes me miss her. Angel was truly my favorite. She was just so tiny when she came out of the shell, just could not find her feet at first...bellywalking Cynthia calls it....so cute. The #1 was more of the comedian, jumping on the others, a more adventurous spirit....so it will be fun to see how they come along. I am so glad my chicken friend has a few so I can hear about them! I love the name Angel, it suits her perfectly. She definitely seems like a she don't ya think? She is gonna be so sweet. Sheesh I love something about each one. How to part with these is going to be harder and harder the longer I have them. What will I do when I get Donna's chicks hatch too? I will be like the chicken shelter. Taking in every chick that comes along. :barnie I gotta get a grip.

Love that you got your garage in your pic. You do not have me beat. I was selectively taking my pic in the clearest area I could find hehe. I am glad I am not in the "gotta clean the garage tomorrow' mode by myself. Seems like it is always gonna be tomorrow.....but it is last on that long list.

CYNTHIA-wondering about your hatching, waiting for newborn pics---I keep checking and then I am so bummed out there are none yet :p So please help us out here......

Hahaha yep, I hear ya, Lisa. Our garage is actually quite a bit better than it used to be, but it still tends to be a catchall and things build up over time. It's probably due for another straightening. I've noticed that the walkway is getting a bit narrow. The nice thing about that, though, is that when the girls wander out of their apartment for a minute while I'm cleaning, there's a very limited area where they can poop on the floor

So long as I don't step in it before I see it, ew......

I think Cynthia went to bed. Cynthia, how dare you get any sleep? Only kidding. I really should go to bed, too. My blankets seem very enticing.

Oh, they are seriously pretty birds, and the chicks I have been getting are ridiculously cute! Wonderful temperament on the parents, too. I have a bunch of chicks now (quarantined from the chicken plague, of course!) and more hatching in about 10 days? I think that long. Then there are the ones under the broody. In the fall, once they grow up, I will just keep the ones I like best and sell or cull the rest, but I think it is going to be hard choices!

I am hatching out a dozen of hers this weekend. If you want one I will give you one. You have to chose and it will be straight run. Pearl
