Utah!

Corvidae, those are beautiful babies. I'm really, really hoping your dark trend continues with my eggs of yours that I'm incubating. Considering I got more splash with the other batch (of someone else's) I did, and that I'm dying for a darker blue girl, I think I'll end up bucking your trend and getting tons of splash.

Just watch.

Soooo, Lisa and I got to see all of Corvidae's GORGEOUS birds. I left my purse in the car so that I wouldn't be tempted to buy anything. But then I saw her girl cream legbars, and I just couldn't help myself, and I had to buy one. They are so beautiful!!

So this chick is Indy (short for Indiana).

And this chick is the white cream legbar:

He immediately snuggled in with my other chicks. I'm calling him Jones.

They are called Indy and Jones because they survived the Brooder of Doom. (ha ha ha)

Thanks again for letting me take them, Corvidae!
Legbars??!

No fair!!

Sphinx, I can't blame you for getting those two chicks. Indy is just stunningly beautiful and Jones is so cute, I'd probably have bought him, too! I love how white he is with that little brown dusting on his head.

Alright, it is now one of my favorite times of day! No, no, not nap time, though that's a favorite, too. It's time to go babysit my girls in the garden! Yay!

corvidae, I think I have the broody fever. I'm looking forward to seeing what's going on with your broody hen.

Donna~I love your BLW babies! Their color looks so rich, and the two splashes will be fun.
Sphinx~congrats on your new additions! They are beautiful.
Red~LOL! I love nap time, too! I don't get it nearly as often as I would like, though.

I took the teens outside to our dog's yard after we had pooper scooped and mowed the grass, just for something different. Silly birds immediately ran to the fence line and looked at the other side. Ha. After I sat with them for about an hour, I left them and went inside for a while. When I checked on them about 30 mins later, all four of them were sitting on the steps by the door, waiting to be let back in, just like the dogs do.

I did my day 14 candling this evening on the 5 eggs I have left (threw 3 out last week for being infertile). I think I may have lost a baby. I'm not seeing any veins and the egg is clearer than the other 4...and the chick wasn't moving.

I'm leaving it in the incubator anyway and will check it before lockdown because this is my first time incubating and I am honestly doubting my skills, or lack thereof.

Lisa, did Kirk make it up your way? He called me last night. Said he got his sprinklers, but had to get to work. He also had a lot of people wanting him to do things for them. He said he will make it tomorrow. At least he called. Asks, have you been there waiting for me all day? I say yes! Right here, just waiting..NOT. Anyway, he laughs, and tells me alll that has happened that day. I know he had to have gone up north to get those sprinklers, but he didn't have time after being up there. So, tomorrow. And Knowing him, he will sit right back, and gab for a while. Which I don't mind. I will be asking about those pens he's got set up and what kind of different birds and colors he's got going on...sounds like a lot of blues!
And I'm sure I'll hear about baby calves being born.

Hey, which reminds me..who has that mama goat that is ready to kid>>did she have her babies??

We do...and she is taking her own sweet time! Everyone has come on the due date or the day after this year...She is 2 days late and it is driving me nuts!
The Rooster I got does look like the hens just a tiny bit redder...will take pics so you can see the difference (if there is one and not my imagination)

No kids yet?!!!! Seriously? Poor mama.

You guys, I am so excited. Suzie from River Rock Family Farm wants my lavender ameraucana roo. I couldn't ask for a better place for him to go to; I was really happy she called. I'm actually going to trade with her for some hatching eggs or maybe a chick instead of cash.

I'm so happy for you and the Lav roo! :) I saw him on KSL, so handsome! My daughter is way in to ducks. She currently has 2 Anconas and 1 chocolate runner, and is getting 2 Welsh Harlequins from Suzie. Hatch date for the Welshies should be around May 15th...I need to contact Suzie again and see how things are going. Is she on BYC?
