Utah!

The one frizzle I was pretty sure is a roo, has left NO doubt in my mind now! I was cleaning the inside brooders this morning, and had put the 3 frizzles into the same ex-pen as my teens. This worked well last time and I figured I want them to continue to get to know each other. WELL, my frizzle roo and EE roo (who is twice the size of the frizzle) kept facing off. Nothing too serious, but I would always step in once they started making the motions.
Next thing I know, the frizzle roo is running over to the EE roo and posturing so they start the dance again. Just before I can stick my hand between the two, the frizzle roo GRABS THE EE ROO'S COMB and starts pulling!

I picked up the frizzle but he wasn't letting go, so I flicked him, and he let go. THE LITTLE BRAT! I put him back in his brooder and picked up my EE roo. No harm done. Phew! So i will be posting the frizzle tonight on KSL, and will take him to chickenstock if he doesn't go before then.

BRAT!
He is cute though, isn't he?

Cynthia I like your new pic!

Thanks! lol..thinking of changing it again..trying to decide what to go with for a while..

Say hello to Little Red...and Miss Piggy. They were at the back door wanting more treats. These are my only two laying hens for now as I wait for my pullets to start. Looks like the NH is going to be soon. These two are so sweet. I love leghorns, they get a bad rap.
Ok mom, I know you are in there, you just went in, that wasn't enough bread!

So, so sad! :( I'm sorry for Kirk's losses. Oh, and Brad was it you that lost the parrot? I'm sorry for your loss as well. (I'm so far behind)

Cynthia, defender of chickens! You go, girl! We did Doberman rescue for several years, and sometimes we would take in a different breed here and there...took in a Pit Bull that "wasn't mean enough" after his owner dragged him down the backroads, trying to make him mean. Poor dog had no pads left on his feet, was skinned and bruised up so bad. We nursed him back to health and he was such a sweetheart. Found him a great home. I loathe anyone who uses animals at a painful demise for humans' pleasure.
Alright..another person that rescued dogs. I did that for several years. I miss it, but can't do that anymore. We had a pitt..one of the best dogs I've ever owned!! Very sweet dog.
That made me cringe just thinking of that poor dogs feet! So glad you got hold of him.

Chickens can eat yogurt? :hmm

Chico, you know that don't you? Especially after having been given any kind of anit-biotic treatment...just like us..eat yogurt or yogurt supplements as soon as you know you are going to be on a treatment. Had a pharmacist tell me that years ago..he puts his kids on yogurt supplement as soon as he gets the anti-biotic.

More eggs to hatch??

And here's a few more pictures. :) One of a couple of the teens with yogurt face, and a couple of my EE roo. What color would you call him?

I would call him..a beautiful color! That's the fun part of owning an EE. You never know what color you will get. That's why RED is going to post pictures of her little EE as it grows..right Whitney??
Love that golden~is that a Wyondotte? And, those two frizzles..adorable!

Sasha, love the pictures, especially that frizzle!

Cynthia, you are awesome! I'm glad you called. I'm still not convinced though, I gotta say. LOL

Today I took my little lavender ameraucana up to River Rock Family Farm. I'm trading him for some hatching eggs that I'll set next week. After seeing all of the gorgeous birds, I'm now torn. I'd originally though maybe coronation sussex. Hers ARE stunning. But she has some really neat ameraucanas (wheaten, and then some other breed that was an amazing gray/brown color). And her olive eggers are great too. And OMIGOSH she has some mille fleur cochins that are to die for. And her barred rocks. I didn't think I wanted a barred rock, but after seeing hers, I'm rethinking that. ACK!

Help me decide PLEASE!
