Woohoo Sasha!!!


We had a really busy morning- three chicks hatched within just a few minutes. Fred still hasn't hatched, which concerns me since I'm leaving in an hour and won't have access too him again til Monday morning.

6 Out? That's outstanding! I don't know that I would worry too much about Fred---I usually leave the chicks in the 'bator for about 48 hours, sometimes a bit longer, and they do fine. Hopefully, he will hatch out without any complications though!

Wendy--it doeswn't look like there are any splash in your group from the webcam images? A little hard to tell on one of them because of the lighting angle, but they all look on the darker side. Is that Fred's egg sitting in the 'bator image? If it is, it rather looks like he is trying to zip!. They all look very active in between doing the Baby Chick Collapse.

So Sphinx and I have been hatching at the same time. She got a 100% hatch which is awesome. I got 5 out of the seven in my incubator hatch this time so I am happy with that. My eggs were shipped from North Carolina! I have 3 out under my broody hens and I can hear two chirping and one pip from those! Yay!!! This hatch has been so much better than the last. I have been hatching these little silkies for my sister in Idaho so I did a photo shoot of the 5 little ones that I have so far.

Auntie Hattie! Those are so fun. Love the last one....so cuddly and sweet ! They look like little teddy bears. Congrats on a great hatch.

The chickie has made a little bit of progress. It's hard to tell in the picture, but she has broken through the membrane and it's like a flap. She's currently working on another hole in the membrane at the very bottom of the pip.

Oh! Her ears must be burning! She just started peeping super loud!

You guys (gals) are going to be sick of all these pictures.
