Utah!

Sundance, the Pencil is a rock..like barred rocks, partridge rocks. Big birds.

The Exchequer will act pretty much like the regular leghorn. My leghorn sticks around. I just go ahead and clip their wings when they are young. She isn't interested in looking up at the trees to get into them at all.

My Sussex is a sweetheart. Sounds like it must be their temperament. She's good to the others too.
Hmmm, painted Susexx and a lavender Ameraucana. Pictures? Pink colored chicken pictures.

Wendy, looks like Chloe is doing well. That's what I named my black ameraucana. :) Nice name.

Looks like she will be staying overnight in the bator. She will be fluffy in the morning.

I ended up helping Chloe out. Regretted it, but she seems like she's doing ok now, so hopefully I didn't mess up too badly. The kids named all seven eggs, and picked great names, though Ed made me laugh. Shirley, Chloe and Emily hatched. Considering changing Shirley's name to Diva (or Dude...)

Your chickens are so beautiful, Cynthia. I need to get me a speckled Sussex; I live those birds.

I'm glad y'all liked the web cam. It a terrible time suck for me but I love it anyway.

I have a Chloe (and Zoey) the two blue wheatens from chickenstock. And a naughty Shirlee headed to KSL any minute, I am just waiting for her to make me mad enough I feel no guilt. She is eating every tail she sees. The wheaten with crooked toes is Zoey. She is walking better, can even run a little, the toes are still crooked but not all the way around like before I taped her up. I take turns one week on one week off. She picks and eats the tape so I do not want her to get sick.

Cynthia I love love love your sussex. So pretty! You have a really pretty combo of colors in your flock.

Sphinx I bet your Chloe will be fine---I sure hope so. When I have helped a few out , either they go south super fast.....or they are fine. if she seems ok I bet you will be fine, try not to worry...I am so happy your lav is doing better, good to show us so if it ever happens to us we won't panic......so weird huh! And your Emily is such a cutie. EE cheeks?--so must have been an Ameracauna parent and a brown egger? Wish we could know. Pretty color, maybe you will have a reddish EE that would be awesome. It was the last thing I expected also.!

Daloorashens---I did not get those Olives, they were just so expensive and so far to ship. I have FBCMarans from qcu due on Monday, Lockdown Fri morning. Crossing fingers, they did bad last time and I cannot see didley squat (yes I just said that, thanks Grandma!) inside of them so I guess it will just be a blind hope hatch :) So I saw your message you got Delawares from Shawn too ---- :gig I am posting it right here so everybody knows I am not the only one that caved. I feel one tiny bit less guilty lol You are right where I was one season ago. I cannot wait to see how many you have by next spring :p :clap

My teens were out the whole day with the big girls and did not get beat up so I am pretty happy. No chickens in the garage at the moment, only 7 in the front room, none in the bedroom, I am doing good yippeee skippeee! Only two locations to water and feed and clean. Instead of 4. Until the hatch. Hoping they can go right in with the other chicks.

Donna you really have been scarce you better update us on all those babies and how it is going. Your place is where all the fun is at :) I would love to see an updated pic of those Bredas to see how they look as adults. Hope you are doing well!

Oh Brad, you know me...I'm at a loss at times..let me go back and look..at our pm.!  lol...
Yep, the Pencils are 4 and half months old.
The BO is the one that was hatched in Feb.  I have the dates on the pictures.  Sorry...didn't mean to mix you up.
you are good. i went and searched the thread to find the dates, i did not think to look at the dates on the pictures.

If anyone else would like some Delaware pullet chicks.. I have extras coming.. they should be here tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning from Cackle... I have had good luck with chicks from Cackle so hoping these will be nice as well.. They are $3 each and Aunt Hattie is willing to deliver along the freeway between Idaho Falls and southern Utah... Let me know if you want any... if you are in Cache Valley you can pick them up from La Casa de Pollo...

Chloe seems to be running laps around the incubator, so I'm thinking she'll be ok. Her one foot is a little curled, but it seems like I see that a LOT the first day or so, especially with the ones that took a long time to hatch, so I'm not at all worried about it yet.

If all goes well, by this fall I'll have some great olive egger eggs available. I have several ameraucana pullets, the cream legbar pullet, and a couple EE and OE pullets. I'm keeping a FBCM roo and that awesome white cream legbar roo. So, I think there could be some really cool combinations from that mix. I could even cross the legbar roo with my brown girls (FBCM, BLRW, GLW, RIR and the partridge) for the same thing.

Thanks, I had never heard of a pencil. I thought she was reallu pretty. Her coloring looks more like lacing than barring. I sold all my pullets on KSL to the same lady very nice person. She was very excited I told her to join this group/ I'll try to get pictures of the pink and blue painted on accident. They really are funny

Prepare for a............PICTURE BOMBARDMENT!!

(Disclaimer: Due to energetic, camera shy chickens, I shirk all responsibility for poor shots and/or lighting

)

The Icelandics outside for the first time!

The proud daddy, momma, and their three babies.

Raven, one of the black Amer's from Cynthia. She likes to pick fights with bigger chickens. I find it funny that she looks all tough in this shot.

Agnes, the other black Amer from Cynthia. Agnes makes a lot of cute chirps. Agnes also likes to wander. Sigh......Agnes, why do you think it's your job to make Mommy worry?

Angel!

Thelma, the EE x BO cross from Cynthia. Thelma wasn't so hot on having her picture taken.

Blurry, but there's black speckling coming in on Thelma's wings.

Jemma, the blue Amer...................from Cynthia...............She's the smallest baby, the fastest, and the jumpiest. Not really a fun combo when it comes time to round up chicks for the night.

Stevie, my rooster in training!

It's a Steven bum! Look at those bloomers and that curly tail. My little boy is so in touch with his feminine side
lol.png

Melanie, who kept moving, thus, she looks like a balloon head. Lookie, pink face! Yay!

Trixie was kind enough to strike a pose for me. Her face is getting pink, too!

Lark really, really wants to get back on the ground, please.

Serah (Serenity) who is highly shy. She was the calmest baby when I was getting chicks. Now she's a booger to catch.

Peachie, thank you for being nice to Mommy and sitting on her lap like a good girl.

Lisa, how do these look compared to your Ameraucana's? I noticed on one of your pictures of them, you had one of the black chickies that had a really pink face, compared to some of these

You're not supposed to rooster yourself, you know.

Just what I needed to hear! I have been hoping and praying you would have the FBCM rooster to make olive eggs. :D :D :D I better start building addition #3. Daloorashens you got here just in time :)
