Silver: To get to the other side!!!

Moriah, love your chickies, especially the puffy cheeks!

Sundancenbare, what time was your wave at dirty dash? I've seen some really funny, outrageous costumes. I don't go too nuts because something that's cute and funny at the starting line is kind of a huuuuuuuuge pain about 5 miles in and covered in mud.

I am old. I am out of the up to date fun things. :( I've never heard of this. Did you get pictures by chance..either one of you that went? I would love to see some. Is this a run? With silly costumes? Don't laugh now, remember, I've never heard of it..oh, now you can laugh, because I've never heard of it.
What ~ is ~ dirty wash, oh, I mean dirty dash?

Ok a few (haha) pics...
the cochin is a fat little thing, #1 wyandotte has a yellow hat with a gray body, #2 wyandotte is dark with sparse yellow flecks.

Blujems - I had dreams of Cochin chicks, thanks to you! How adorable. I've never had one but they are the fave of some of my chicken friends.

My team ran at 12:15 I didn't run I was the mascot. My friend that is the vet in Orem closed her clinic and they all ran. I just met at finish and baby sat. the kids ran at 200. Some of the costumes even Muddy were really funny.
the dirty das is a race a solderhollow. The twist is that you run in mud and have obsticles. At the finish is 2 deep mud pits to traverse. People are just crazy and plan their costumes in advance, will post pics later

I'm back from my trip to Idaho. There is a lot to catch up to on this thread and it will take a while. I got to she sweet Lisa again and deliver her Delawares to her. Never enough time to visit. I just love the people I've met on here. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Great people!

I also met Cynthia yesterday and saw her beautiful chickens and adorable chicks. That was the hardest thing ever leaving her house chick less. It was a promise to my DH. Grrr. He told me I had 17 eggs waiting at home for me to incubate. I got my SQ Bantam Polish eggs on Friday. So last night before bed I candled the eggs and surprisingly the air sacks look good. There were only a few that will remain in question. So I've set them in the incubator and we will see how it goes. Thanks Cynthia for the incubator. I needed to buy another incubator because I had so many eggs and Cynthia had one she wanted to sell. So that was prefect! I hope I can make it work as good as you did with your hatches. It was so nice to meet you and your DH. I wish I lived closer. Then I could get all the chick cuddles in at your house with your baby chicks.

So I have my favorites with chickens but the problem is is that you start talking with other chicken lovers about theirs that's where the problems begin. I am now wanting so many more chicken breeds to try. Will this addiction end? I fear not.

Cynthia, here's a video about the dirty dash: http://thedirtydash.com/

No way! That looks like so much fun! Why didn't we have fun things like that when I was young? I would so do it!!

I have a son that is going to jump out of an airplane today. Something he's wanted to do for a long time. In Moab. Will be interesting to see how he liked that. That's one that I never "even" thought about doing!

Thanks everyone for the chicken poo info and suggestions. (Who would have thought I would be saying something like that?) I really appreciate the advice and thank you for the link to the poo chart. It was both informative and disgusting.
Question - where do you buy unmedicated chick food?

I have seen in at CAL Ranch and the IFA up here in Rigby...

Picture overload big time, because I have a lot of babies! :)

How many babies do you see?

Jill, this is the chocolate one. I am not sure what happened with the coloring the camera did when I took these
near the floor. Can you tell this one looks..chocolate? Soo cute, and small.
Again coloring, and sorry, blurry

This one is better of the same chick, you can see the true color here, and get an idea of the pattern on the
last picture.

One of the Marans

Same Maran

Other Maran She is doing the, don't look at me squint. She is smaller. I think they are both looking
like girls already. Talked to the breeder. She said getting two marans out of six is good. ?

This is the only Icelandic that hatched. Looks like it may turn white, then have some black in it. Who wants
and Icelandic??

Here's her cute little face..that coloring again, whenever I was close to the floor.

An EE

Another EE

EE

EE The breeder said they were all EE's. That she bred her Pure Ameraucana, to an EE. That the
slate legs are just coming through in the chicks, but they are not pure Ameraucanas. Sure are pretty
though! And, the eggs were blue! The two smaller eggs were a blue/green, but all of the others, blue.

Maybe you can see the brown in this picture of the little chocolate baby

One of my latest Exchequers

One of my favorite Welsummers! I want to keep this one I think. Looking like a girl, dark V shape on head.

The eyeliner is a good sign too! Love these birds for their pretty eggs. BTW..15 chicks are in the basket. :)
I have Lisa's out in the nursery with an older sex link, and one of my Exchequers that I'm watching. They are
having a blast with all the space they have. I do have a light one them for the night, just in case..first night out.
