Gamebird those are very nice looking chickens. I am loving those Welsummer roosters. I would love to see pictures of some of your Welsummer and olive egger eggs.

The olive eggers haven't started yet so I hope they lay olive color. I will have to post some pics of my welsummer eggs.

Oh my!!! You guys have some beautiful chickens! The roosters are so pretty. Dog gone em why do they have to crow!

I would take pictures of my girls but they look a mess right now. Rained yesterday and went all through the night and still rain today.

Such a nice cool down. I haven't had to run the misters and have even turned the air conditioner off.
So I have a question I have been noticing small little ants in my run all of a sudden. How do I get rid of them when they are around chickens? Would DE work on ants? My dingy chickens are just ignoring them. I would ignore them also if I new for sure they wouldn't start coming more in the direction of my house.

In other news I candled all four of your (birdguy) Icelandic eggs last night and 3 are fertile and growing. I couldn't tell on the Maran egg. It is way to dark. The others I have out under the little naughty broodies. They were mixes right birdguy? I haven't checked those yet. I will tonight.

Ant!!! sprinkle corn meal around. The ants eat it but can't digest it and it kills them. Works great and totally safe for animals

Cynthia, I say your Wheaten looks girly so far. And comparing pictures of your EE Leghorn and mine, I'm pretty sure Chuck Norris is a boy. Still no feathers on his head, and the cutest little excuse for a tail nub, ever.

There was an earthquake? I wondered if I felt something, but to be honest, my head is so messed up that I feel like the ground is shaking or someone's trying to push me over all the time, anyway. So how was I s'posed to know? That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

LOL...You sound like me. the world spins around me, some days faster than others....feel like I am on a tilt- a- whirl some days......I thought for sure the dog was under my chair scratching again.
