Sundancen, love the new babies! Those BO's are so sweet........well, usually. Mine can be a brat sometimes, heh. On the dog thing - The problem is, it's not just one dog that has been getting in the yardS (two different yards, would you believe that luck?) This beagle that showed up today is the worst that I know of thus far, though. He killed something around 8 chickens my boyfriend had over a year ago. One of the next door neighbors works in Animal Control, and I think it's a dog she rescued from either a bad home or not being adopted. She'll rehab some rescues in her yard on occasion, which is fine by me. The other dogs that have shown up include a golden retriever, a Mastiff, a couple of Malimutes, and some others that I either don't know the breed or they were mutts. Kind of interesting, though: I found out a little while ago that a couple of years back, some kind of Husky or Malimute jumped the fence and killed a calf my boyfriend was raising. And since I'm pretty sure that the owners of those two fine Mal's aren't going to pay for the turkey their dogs killed, I will keep that in mind if they ever show up again. It IS legal to shoot dogs killing your livestock in Utah, after all
Lisa, the sasserfrassin' beagle got our new turkey and one of the chickens. Don't know which chicken yet, but it was one of the boys. The girls have been confined to the run until mommy is on duty to babysit them. And on a different note, I love the pictures of your flock! Love Margarita's name
Those two Amer's do look boyish, though it's a little tougher call on that second one. Their tail feathers just have too much curl on the top, among other things. All three of the Amer's I got from the same batch are looking girly in comparison, though I'm keeping an eye on one of the blacks. She's more pink than the other two, and her tail is a lot larger. Has me a little worried.
Iain - You are awesome for helping to rescue so many geese! I'm sorry you couldn't get them all, though
If we are able to take a couple I will let you know as soon as I find out. I want to get a fence around the front of the yard, first.
