Utah!

We have some of that medication....the little stop sign shaped pills... my son used to get croup (Stryder virus) all the time so my doc gave me some to keep here for emergency breathing medicine for him. he outgrew it but I still have the little pills I wonder if I ever needed to use it for chickens if that would work? If you dissolved that in water can they take it by mouth, just little bits? Just wondering if I should hang on to those little pills for a chicken emergency. They are expired but would probably be ok for chickens, if you thought that would even work?

These little guys are so cute I couldn't wait until they all hatched to post. So here are the first 3.

My mystery chick.

Here are two of the Icelandic's

That is side and back of the 1st one. Love the color on this one!

Eyeliner on this one and a chipmunk pattern.
I'm sure loving these little guys.

Aunt Hattie, looooove love love love those babies! That mystery baby sure looks sweet. How exciting!

So, I'm off to Tooele to investigate something rather interesting. An unknown chicken showed up in my boyfriend's back yard this afternoon. He says she was eating the scratch like there was no tomorrow. If she's a stray, we'll be keeping her. Here's a picture he sent me:

My poor bedraggled rooster looks happy, haha. I want to say NH, but she looks too light. Guess we'll see what I find!

This is when I LOVE broody hens.

She gets to take care of them and my other broodies will take care of their little chicks. I don't have to worry about heat lamps and all of that stuff.

Love the chicks. I'll be in the exhibition ring on the first day around 4pm to prep my chickens but if you want to see the judging it starts at 6pm. My fancy show chickens will look bomb and all win hopefully, but I'm taking a risk with my layers (they might be judging who is actually the best layer - mine just have the best ability and composition(show chickens - not layers)).

oh, Hattie, those babies are just sooooo cute!!

Lisa, I don't know that I'd risk it. Some expired medicines just get less potent, but some change, and it could put them in danger.

Red, that is so weird that she just showed up! It's only fair that if anyone gets a mystery chicken, it's you. Maybe she's a gold sex link?

Whittni, good luck with your show! I hope you do amazing. Please post pictures.

Since I haven't seen a picture of your face, Red, I can't comment on how photogenic you are.

I'm up for hosting a BYC BBQ sometime this summer. I think it'd be fun.

Hattie, I forgot to mention: I totally understand how unexpected guests can throw a monkey wrench into things. We were so busy trying to get packed up and out of there yesterday morning because I was a bit worried about Thing 2 that I don't know how much time we really would've had. We'll meet up some day. Congrats on the pip!!

Yeah, so the brooder tote is working out extremely well (not) for Thing 2.
