Utah!

thanks, It was great. We got lots of compliments on our goats. and we had lots of fun. Plus the kids got to play in the little creek running through the fair grounds and we didn't have to worry.  Now I have to recuperate from it. Hopefully I can walk a straight line soon.

haha well I hope you feel better soon :p You have to keep rested and take care of yourself!

Ok Sphinx, who got hurt? A lavender? I missed out somewhere? Oh no!

I have the two polish babies, one I already described, pretty different, and I know they change in color, and one is Siliver, with white? I'm thinking it could be a cookoo..not sure of spelling and not sure of color..lol..pictures later..taking off with hubby. The babies are doing well! Yaay.

Congratulations to: Hector!!! BirdGuy on your new piglets!!! (I think we may have a couple here if Hyrum allowed it) Cynthia on your Polish!! Sundancen on your D'uncles hatching and selling most of them. BluJems & Slvrphoenix on the goat wins!!

It's been 60 hours since Hedwig laid her first egg(s). No sign of a second/third (since her first was a double yolker). What the heck? Am I just being super impatient? Is this normal? My two Wyandottes are showing no sign of laying any time soon either, as far as squatting and talking and nesting are concerned. Their faces have been super red for more than a month, big wattles, beautiful combs, and they are 24 weeks. Elvis has got to be right around there too. Seriously, what the heck? I'm about to make meals out of the whole lot!

Sasha, my birds from Bonnie are not laying great either. Zoey, curly toes, lays 2 days on 2 day off (about) and Chloe has laid 2 in 9 days. Hang in there :) maybe they just need to get out of this dang heat. My first SLW laid at 26 weeks, so you have got to be close! I think the polish will be a bit longer, mine does not look ready at all.

Hey how are your babies. We need to do a red wattle comparison. Mine are pink still, but def not red, and pretty small. So far they are getting no more color so I am hopeful. But there is that pink up on the nose too....her crest sure looks female. But I don't rely on that anymore :)
I will get a pic on here of mine, tell me how it compares to yours. If this one is a girl I might get a buddy for her. Maybe. :/

My cuckoo/black/blue babies were born mostly black/dark gray with white heads. If it is lighter gray it may be crele, or super light blue. Cannot wait to see! Sooo glad they are doing well.

I GET TO KEEP MY CHICKENS!s
My landlord came by this Morning right before we left for Church and told me he had let people keep chickens at this house before but thought I wasn't listening to the city's chicken rules (even though I was) and asked me to get rid of them. But he talked to the city and found out my setup is just what the city asks and I am allowed to keep my hens. I was speechless again

Oh my gosh YEAH! This was actually bothering me but Im so happy for you!

Sphinx, the BF waited four hours for someone to show up and get the dog. The neighbor who works in Animal Control finally came and got him and took him over to her yard for the night. I'll PM you on the other stuff, if you want. Don't want to drag everyone down with drama here.

Blu, glad you guys had fun! Way to go!

Birdguy, congrats on so many piglets! (hoglets?)

Sasha, none of my oldest girls have started laying yet. I've got four that are at least 22 weeks old, now. I think they're punishing me for splitting their group up. I made a nesting area in the run to see if anyone was interested, and all that happened was some of the smaller chicks started using it as an escape hatch to dig out of the run

Sphinx- sorry about your lavender. I hope she will start to walk soon.

Bird Guy- That's really neat about your daughter helping out so much with the deliveries. She was there the last time I saw you at the barn and she sure seemed to know what she was doing then. Helping with the chickens. That's really great she was able to help.

Sasha if it makes you feel any better I'm getting one egg every other day about. So hot here! My little Polish is the only one laying. I'm thinking my little Cochin will sometime soon. I hope I hope. Then I need to get my Silkies in gear again. That will be awhile I think. They are still being little mothers.

I deep cleaned my coop out today. Sprayed it and treated for bugs with permethrin. Then put new pine shaving in with DE. I haven't seen any bugs but it has been so hot there has to be some. It feels good to have that done. It is suppose to get too 108 by Saturday here. The chickens are loving their air conditioning and I was so thankful for it when I was cleaning! Ha! That alone made that thing worth it!

so because of a neighbor who is a grumpy old man i have to move my coop. so i am converting our shed into a coop and it will be bigger but is so much of a pain! i just walked outside this morning and had the man yelling like crazy over things that have nothing to do with the chickens but he says its my fault. the man is crazy! oh and its my dads birthday and he had to toss the plans he had because he needs to help me. my dad is great about it tho, and is even buying the stuff we need to get it done. its taking me a lot not to go off on this old man  yeah not a good day! :he now i will have to make the coop they are in now bigger so it can fit everything that goes in the shed. then i gotta plant plants around the new coop. i am sorry for venting but i know you all understand
